Good:
The plastic for this case is reasonably soft without being flimsy. It's similar to silicone cookware in appearance and flexibility. There's no harsh plastic or rubber smell. The components fit together well. It's reasonably comfortable and non-slippery in the hand. The beveled plastic front makes it much easier to spin your finger around the touch wheel. The dock connector and headphone plug are still mostly accessible.
Bad:
The plastic inset in the back might make the case more "universal", but it makes my skinny 120GB ipod Classic kind of fat. The extra thickness makes it impossible to use the ipod in a dock. The clear plastic on the front scratches easily (but better the plastic than the ipod). The plastic is just grippy enough to stick when you try to put it into a jacket pocket. The opening for the headphones is only barely big enough -- for some jacks, it might be necessary to cut out a bit of the rubber around the headphone opening.

I bought this case for my iPod Classic because it looked to be the most protective option and as far as that goes it's perfect. It makes me feel a lot more comfortable carrying it around with me knowing it's way more protected than it would be without the case. Unfortunately the security comes at a price (so what's new with that?). The price is that to plug in the hole in the case where the earplugs plug in is too small for the cables I use in my car. I have to wiggle it around and force it in to get the plug in far enough for both sides of the stereo picture to come through. Also none of the docking stations I tried have a long enough male plug to get through the thick Speck case so I have to remove the case every day when I get to work and put it on my speakers. But the security in my opinion is worth it, that tiny little hard disk needs protecting and it's really not that hard to take the case off and on.Customer Review: Perfect for Real Protection

The Speck ArmorSkin case isn't as sleek to look at as many of the thin, colorful silicone skins available, but it is exactly what I wanted and needed to protect my brand new 160 GB iPOD Classic. I drive a great deal and listen to books or music constantly through my car speakers. This case provides superior protection for the screen and body of the iPOD while leaving the controls fully accessible.
Best part is that the device stays put rather than sliding around on the seat or off of the console of the car. This same feature makes it a little more difficult to get in or out of a pocket, but well worth the trade-off.
The hard plastic shield can be replaced if it gets scratched - I've had mine several months with truly minimal scratching.
I highly recommend this case, and the Amazon price and service were great.

The case is great for protecting your ipod from the daily scratches that you would normally get on an iPod. It comes with an outer case that molds around all of the corners, and a clear plastic piece that covers the screen exposing the click wheel. The outer shell is heavy duty, and your ipod will be able to withstand a lot of punishment, and the rubbery texture will keep it from sliding around. I put mine on my dashboard and it stays put just fine. My only complaints, and they are small complaints, are 1) The plastic front cover is easily scratched leaving small scratches that when you are viewing a video make it annoying to watch the movie through the scratches, and 2) the outer cover makes it too thick to use any of the ipod docks that are available out there. If you have a valuable electronic device, you must insure it's safe prolonged existence with proper protection from physical shock... Because, let's face it, you will have one of those butterfingers moments. And physical shock is a major Achilles' Heel of electronic devices. This case is just absolutely great in that it has a thick rubbery form with an extra layer that goes inside, behind the ipod. The rubber part provides protection from the back to the sides and right up to the front edge. And covering the front is a nice, hard plastic surface. The case fits perfectly and the connectors are easy to access. So, this case does very well at protecting your device from exterior elements that may mark or damage it. And the texture on the case gives your ipod a nice, secure feel in your hand or on a table.
