Customer Review: Itouch/Iphone owners beware

To be completely honest, I bought this speaker for its low price. I also got what I paid for!
Pros:
1. Looks cool.
2. Comparatively low price.
3. The A/V port in the back allows you to hook up another speaker system to get stereo sound(see below).
Cons:
1. Will not control an Iphone/Itouch. Only the controls for sound work(loudness bass/treble). Though it will play music from it.
2. Not Stereo. Left channel only, they expect you to buy an identical looking speaker for the right channel. Even the it is only 2.0 instead of 2.1.
3. Sound requires a little bit of tweaking in order to get it to sound OK.

I bought this speaker system at the beginning of 2008 because I was looking for an affordable speaker/dock for my iPod for my kitchen/living room area. What's great about this product is that it's fairly inexpensive (Amazon is a lot cheaper than the stores I've seen it in) and produces a pretty good sound. Granted, it certainly doesn't perform as well as Bose or other high end systems, but I didn't expect such a good sound for such a reasonable price. Also, it's pretty small so it doesn't take up too much counterspace and is easily portable. The remote is a nice touch as well. So if you're looking for an iPod speaker system that has a nice sound and doesn't break the bank, this may be for you.Customer Review: iPod Remote Speaker System

I purchased this item on sale for $20 at Amazon and use it on the patio and in the garage. The case is made of shiny black plastic, the grill is silver metal, and the power brick is about 2"x2"x2" and plugs into the back.
It has plenty of volume and sound quality for outdoors (sitting on back porch or cleaning garage/car). It's also lightweight and easily portable for moving about. I agree the sound isn't perfect as noted in some other reviews, but it does not distort and it's good for how I use it.
Catch it on sale and you can't go wrong, it's just a speaker with a dock and power, but it does very well for what it was designed.

I have another more expensive unit also from iHome. I was constantly moving it around to the kitchen while cooking or to the yard for BBQs. When I saw this in Gold Box for twenty bucks I snagged it, just to have a second unit that I could permanently leave in the bedroom. It works well and definitely serves its purpose. It's not the most phenomenal sound, but it's pretty darn good. It definitely sounds alot better than one should expect for the price paid. If you're looking for amazing sound quality, this may not be the unit for you. But, if you're looking for bang-for-buck, and intend to use it to casually listen to music, this system is perfect.Customer Review: A winner

SDI Technologies iH80B Speaker System for iPod (Black)
I bought this for my husband, a music fanatic. I got a great deal and I figured it would be easier to transport this unit than his large boom box - especially when we travel. He's hard to please on the "sound" front, but I know he likes this speaker because he actually carries it with him when he gives bass guitar lessons so he can play examples of music to his students. The sound will fill a large room and is very clear and hearty. We are super pleased with the speaker.
