Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of iHome iH5 Clock Radio and Speaker System for iPod (Black)

Customer Review: good sound; stylish; buttons are a bit weird for my taste
Summary: 4 Stars

I wanted an audio option that would allow me to play my ipod (or radio) while in the bathroom and to clearly hear the audio over the water while I'm in the shower. This does the trick.

I think the sound on this is great for its purpose. You can definitely hear it well. Like most players of this type, you are not buying this for the bass. So, don't except a rocking deep bass.

Instead, you'll get a great player for a price well below $100 that will likely fit your needs.

I do not understand why the volume button and the other button on the right (tuning?) are so large when the power buttons are so tiny. I would have preferred a better use of space to make all of the buttons more easily seen.

Customer Review: Takes a beating & would buy again
Summary: 5 Stars

I have owned this product for almost 2 years now, it is the best alarm clock I have ever owned. Love the Ipod feature, that is why I bought it. Just like waking up to nice soft music in the morning. Kinda starts the day off nice. Only problem I have had with it was one night I was drinking a little too much, and knock a beer all over it. I did the ah $&^%* and quickly clean it off. I know this Alarm clock is not water proof nor beer proof, So I thought I was going to have to purchase a new one. Well from the day on this unit, is still working perfectly and the beer dried up. So it can take a beating or I just luckly. Who knows. But she is still running like a champ. Worth every cent. And have beer on me:)

Customer Review: Finally, a home for your iPod
Summary: 5 Stars

This little machine has it all. My daughter got one for her birthday and we LOVE it. It plays her itunes and wakes her up in the morning. It has a remote so she can select volume, songs and more from the comfort of her bed if she wants to and the clock has an option to turn down the light so it wont keep her up at night. Finally, no more annoying buzzer to wake up to and also no more trudging up the stairs for me to wake her up. Plus it charges her iPod instead of having to plug it into the computer to do the job so she never runs out of battery on the thing any more. We love it. The only drawback is that it smells awful for about 3 weeks after you get it but that eventually goes away.

Customer Review: LOVE IT!
Summary: 5 Stars

I am so happy with this alarm clock, I can't believe anyone would give it a bad review. I have a nano (1st gen) and they work great together. I am able to advance songs either using the remote or just clicking on the nano. I also love the ridiculous luxury of having a remote control for something that is a foot away from me. I don't even have to lean over to press snooze. But I don't even want to press snooze, because I'm listening to one rad song after another - instead of horrible morning radio! I also find myself just generally listening to music more. Everytime I come into the bedroom I turn it on. Sounds great loud too! I love this product and would highly recommend it!

Customer Review: Not Worth It
Summary: 2 Stars

Maybe i got a dud, but My iH5 isnt what I was expecting.

I expected that when alarm went off, the volume would slowly fade up to gently wake me. Not so. The volume ramps up very quickly, so that its basically like the thing just comes on full volume.

I expected that the snooze feature would work well. It doesn't. When the alarm initially goes off, Ipod plays just fine. After the first snooze, the buzzer goes off. After the next snooze, the Ipod will play again, after the next, the buzzer goes off, etc. How annoying.

I expected the manual and the buttons to be fairly intuitive. They aren't.
