I bought my iHome from Apple when I ordered my 30GB video iPod. I was happy to find a base stereo unit that had the ability to play radio as well. It looks sharp, places nicely (for those who aren't too discriminating about sound) and my iHome came with the remote. While the remote is nice, you can only raise or lower the volume and skip forward or backward to the last track. You can't change from playlist to playlist with the remote, nor can you hit a shuffle/random button on the remote. This means that once your playlist is over that you have to go and change it to where you'd like to go next right from the iHome. I have no intentions of using it as an alarm clock, but I would have to agree with other writers who talk about how bright the backlight of it is - even on dim it's pretty bright. If you're an extreme audiophile and just need that ultra-rich resonation, then look at the Bose, but if you're just someone looking to enjoy your music around your home then this would be a nice choice.Customer Review: Excellent value, beautiful design

This is the perfect complement to your black iPod (or colored iPod nano, in my opinion). It's a gorgeous little design and big enough to produce high-quality sound, but small enough not to bother or stand out. We have ours on top of the TV in the open plan living/dining room and can hear it all through the house if we want to turn it up that loud, or have had it playing softly in the background during a dinner party. I love it because we didn't have to get an expensive speaker system with sightly cables or worry about compatibility. You will be impressed with the superior sound quality compared to anything else in this price range. Not to mention the charging feature, which is excellent, because the only time I ever have to worry about charging my iPod is in a hotel room on business travel. The blue LCD clock display is clear and easy to read from 30 feet away, an added bonus for us not having to walk up close to see the tiny clock on the DVR recorder. Overall the sound is great but the device has a few quirks that can make it annoying. I have a 3rd generation IPod, the kind where the battery wore down and Apple wouldn't replace it, and for some reason every once in awhile while playing the IPod the radio will stop, make a clicking noise and then start again but at several octaves higher than what I had it set at. The reason this is a problem is because I use this in my office and I keep the volume low as to not disturb others. Everyonce in awhile I will leave my office and then come back only to hear the music cranking and thus disturbing others. I have had to get into the habit of pausing the ipod when i leave the room just in case. I do not know if this is the radio or the IPod's fault but I will say that it doesn't happen when it isn't in the IHome. Also, it is annoying trying to change a song while it is in the dock. Pros- I have had this thing for a year. It has been in a combat zone and some of the hottest weather on earth. It still works as good as it did the first day and sounds great. I thought the sound would be mediocre when I bought it but this thing packs a punch. I love the dimming light feature on the front, it is very nice when you have a dark room. You can have it bright blue, dim blue, or off. You can wake up to your favorite song viathe iPod or just have a pleasant buzzer wake you up. It's not pleasant in actuality, its an annoying beep, but it wakes you up with a gradual volume shift. If you are a light sleeper it wont be as annoying. I recommend buying the $11 remote. It is very convient if you are using it to jam in the kitchen or even in the living room. I haven't had one problem with this like I said in a year and give it 5 stars. There are no complaints other than my black color attracts lots of dust. Weekly wiping keeps this from being a problem. I hope this review helped.Customer Review: Definitely Buy.

This is a spectacular product for numerous reasons.
Despite the new release of the 'ipod hi-fi' by apple, this is the product to purchase.
While the hi-fi is simply a stereo system for your ipod priced at $349, this contraption is a high-quality stereo system, alarm clock, radio and a charger.
I generally don't write reviews, but I am urged to do so for this product, being that I feel that it is so miraculous.
I have been under a lot of stress and struggling to fall asleep for months and could not find a solution. This product has seemed to cure me. Now, as I go to sleep, I listen to a playlist of particularly relaxing songs on my iPod that lull me to sleep and shut off after the desired amount of time.
Even besides this issue, I enjoy every feature of this product and have absolutely no complaints.
