I initially bought this because my router and my stereo were on opposite sides of my living room. It worked great and didn't take up much room at all. After I moved, I was able to attach one of the ZonePlayers directly to the stereo, and I discovered I could use the ZoneBridge as an access point to provide wired ethernet ports at the other end of my house from my wireless router. I have a wired network printer that I can now put anywhere I want and use over the wireless network. Considering the price of other products designed specifically for this purpose, it's actually a pretty good deal for that as well! Since other reviews make it clear that it works well for its intended function, I thought I would mention this unexpected bonus feature.Customer Review: Sonos wireless music system

I first saw the Sonos system at a friend's home and thought that it might be the answer to my problems on how to utilize 4 separate itunes libraries. Well it certainly addressed that problem and added the benefit of internet radio, Rhapsody, Napster and Pandora all in one system. It is easy to set up although we had several slight problems, easily remedy by calling their fantastic customer support team. I have had the unfortunate need to contact a number of computer support teams over the past three months none has been better than the Sonos team. We purchased part of the system at Best Buy but found tath through Amazon with their offering Sonos products at a better price with no shipping and no tax it was an appreciable savingsCustomer Review: Sonos Zone Bridge brings streaming music to you wirelessly.

This zone bridge is simply the wireless transmitter that connects the Sonos to the zones around your listening area. If you don't have an Internet connection at your receiver and don't want to run a wire, this is for you. It's well worth the price to keep from having to buy and install the wiring. If you're tired of listening to the same CDs in your collection and you either have digital music on your computer or especially high-speed Internet, Sonos is for you. I highly recommend Sonos and buy it all from Amazon resellers, if available. The unit arrived in a timely manner as well. After three months, I've never had to reset it or bother with it. This is a basic part of the Sonos system. It's used to connect the larger system to the internet. The advantage of the Sonos system the simple set-up. I had the whole 3 room system set up (without any call to customer service) in just a few hours. I considered alternate (and cheaper) systems like the Logitech Squeezebox. However, the alternatives use an existing wireless network. With one kid playing WOW and another downloading video, bandwidth is already um, squeezed. Of course, I could beef up my network, but that would make the price much higher and add a lot of complication. Sonos sets up its own proprietary "net" that works great and is dead simple. My Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station is centrally located in my house. The PC that stores all my music was at the far end of the house. Before the ZoneBridge 100 (BR100) I had to "waste" a ZonePlayer 80, a $350 investment. Now I have the BR100 connected directly to the Base Station. It simply sits on top of the Base Station, with no noticeable impact on range or wireless performance. I am able to listen to my music files throughout the entire house AND connect to Rhapsody's online music service. The BR100 is easy to setup and, IMO, very cost effective.
