Customer Review: Excellent purchase, could not be happier
Summary: 5 Stars

I have debated buying the Sonos system for several months mostly due to price and also in part wondering if it could truly live up to the claims and reviews. I am fairly technical and am usually an early adopter, although have at times, been disappointed with other purchases not working quite as well as advertised. I am thrilled with all aspects of my Sonos purchase and cannot believe how easy it was to set up and the sound quality. I received it about an hour ago, and in minutes, had the Zone Bridge connected to my router (since the router is kept hidden in a closet out of sight) and then the S5 ZonePlayer set up in my living room. I can now stream my iTunes Library from a Time Capsule (NAS) and listen to streaming music from Pandora, Last.fm, Sirius and more. Plus, as a transplanted Minnesotan in New York, I can save my favorite local stations from MN and listen to them here as if I were at home. The music is flawless, crystal clear and I would never know it is from the internet- no stutters, gaps or delay. This is one product that has surpassed my expectations completely. The only downside I can see will be now wanting to buy another S5 for my bedroom.

Customer Review: Sonos Simple
Summary: 4 Stars

This little bridge was very simple to set up and made deploying the rest of the Sonos system very simple. The only two minor complaints I have are: 1) the Ethernet ports on the back of this box are not labeled - even a number would have been nice - just to identify which port was being used for the bridge and which was being used as a pass through. And, 2) the documentation is non-existent. (BE SURE to install the software on a control computer on your network and then everything becomes very easy after that, including help files.) I own a Yamaha MusiCast system with a couple of zones as well. This little ZoneBridge makes the Sonos system very easy to use while the Yamaha system constantly drops from the network and always has to be rebooted or reset to join the network before you can use it. Not so with the Sonos. It's on, it's ready, and it's reliable.

Customer Review: Great for connecting receiver to computer music files
Summary: 5 Stars

Very satisfied with this product.
I wanted to listen to the music files on my PC and to playlists on Rhapsody on my home audio system that is in a different room. This device along with the Zone Player 90 allowed me to connect my PC to my audio receiver without having to run wires between the devices.

In addition the Sonos Desktop controller allows connectivity to a large number of radio stations over the internet that I can now listen to using the Zone Player. I wasn't aware of this feature when I made the purchase but it is a pleasant surprise.

I had some McAfee firewall problems in getting the files set up on the Sonos Player initially but the customer service rep at Sonos helped me resolve that issue quickly. Sonos also has an extensive FAQ list on their internet site that is helpful to users.

Customer Review: This device is an overpriced bridge
Summary: 1 Stars

Unless you're really tied to the Sonos name, there's really no reason to purchase this device. It's simply an overpriced wireless to wired ethernet bridge. There are dozens of products which can perform the same task at a much better price point, even gaming adapters for many popular consoles perform this take effortlessly (I use the TRENDnet TEW-647GA which I purchased new for $30).

Sonos refuses to make the system more friendly and cost effective for users who don't want to tether their first Zoneplayer to a wired connection, and after many complaints decided to once again stick it to the consumer by offering them an overpriced bridge rather than just building this functionality into their system, which would require no hardware modification in their existing Zoneplayers.

Customer Review: Works well,
Summary: 4 Stars

easy to set up, don't have near the problem with dropped connections I had using Airport Express. The ZonePlayer is equally easy to set up. It also has a noticeably better sound quality so that it is worth the extra $$. You get what you pay for. There is room for improvement, have been using my iPod Touch as controller and that using another network doesn't have near as reliable a connection. Would be nice if it could connect with the ZoneBridge directly. When it connects it does work fine. Would also like the ability to rate the album on iTunes like one can using APX with the remote. Still haven't gotten down how Sonos playlists work since they're different than on iTunes. Would be nice if it were a mirror of iTunes and one didn't have to learn a who new system.
