Battery is impressive. Seems like it holds a charge better than the original. Recommended highly if you are handy. Advise squeezing the case inwards on the edges before re-assembly to ensure a tight fit (reversing any mis-shaping of the case as a result of prying the metal bottom of the case from the plastic top during dis-assembly of the case). Use of other tools than the plastic ones provided may be necessary.Customer Review: better than new!

It took perhaps ~ 5 minutes to install the new battery. Anyone who has installed anything inside a PC will find the procedure to be trivial.
The new battery provides at least ~20 hours of playback, even with backlight use. The OE Apple *never* lasted this long.
It's like getting a new iPod for the price of the battery.
Worth every penny - very pleased!

I have bought this product and after following every single assembly step and let the battery plugged to be charged, it did not even start. Unfortunately, I have dispossed of my receipt thinking that all would be well; now I have a battery that is no good without a possibility of reimbursement.
Be careful. I still hope that I could get one in a store rather than the net.

I just received my replacement battery in the mail today and it took me all of 10 minutes to pop the CD in the computer and get things moving. I would say that this is even easy enough for those who may not even be as familiar with electronics as those who may work at Best Buy. Once installed battery worked great. But trying to install it was such a pain. I almost just tossed the ipod. The tools bent and I ended up using a knife which I don't recommend because it scratches up your ipod quite a bit. Next time I would just have apple to it and pay up the cash.
