Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of 600-CD Hardbody Media Case with TrolleyCustomer Review: My CD Tank Summary: 5 StarsI refer to this product as my tank. It is durable and looks great. As you might expect, it has some weight to it, but not unreasonably heavy. It looks good inside and out and if you actually buy CDs this is a must have investment to protect your CDs.
Customer Review: Compact and Resistance Summary: 5 StarsI have been doing DJing for over 30 years and this case is GREAT. I have five of this style. I use to have the old cd cases that are metal and so heavy to transport and lift. You can cut your storage space by 50 - 75 % and no problem lifting.
I use them both ways ( the 300 count which has your insert in the front and the 600 count for my single artists). They are easy to move around and durable too. I bang these around alot going from one gig to the other.
Don't rely on the other cases that have the sleek silver finish and has a hanging format inside them. They only work for storage only. I had two of this type and they only lasted about 3-6 months. I had my 600-CD cases for over two years now and still intact.
The inside cushion is thick enough to handle the absortion of all the movements.
The CD's are easy to pick out of the sleeves and the trolly handles work very efficiently.
Customer Review: Good luggage. Mediocre disc sleeves. Summary: 3 StarsI read others' reviews before ordering two of these cases at once.
For years before, I used successive generations of Case Logic binders. The recent ones were of far worse quality than earlier ones, mainly because their outer zippers were poorly integrated into the binder, and in general the newer binders seemed flimsier than older models.
This and my desire to consolidate my ever-growing collection of binders into fewer containers got me looking for an alternative.
Reviewers of the Slappa products (this trolley one and others) cited as a benefit the stitched construction of the disc sleeves. On receiving my Slappa cases, I saw that this was a mistaken perception.
As I see it, Slappa chose this technique to 1. skirt possible patent infringement (on Case Logic patents notably), and 2. save money in their manufacturing process. The second point is painfully obvious when you actually see these cases.
Clearly, techniques for stitching fabric are thoroughly understood and are ubiquitous in the Chinese manufacturing industry. So why should Slappa choose to develop or license a process for welding synthetic films when they can simply stitch them together? Just like making t-shirts.
Anyway, the result is imprecision and reduced utility: in a given sheet, the width of adjacent rows of sleeves is not uniform. And the inner edge of the see-through layer (the edge that's nearest the spine) often has a margin of fabric tucked into it; when that row is narrower than it should be (which is fairly often in the two cases I received), it uses up a bit of the valuable space that is there. Not good. Also, more an aesthetic concern than a functional one, dangling thread ends are common.
What I would buy if I could get it would be Slappa cases filled with Case Logic sleeves. Since I can't have that, I will stick with the Slappa products for now since their sleeves are serviceable (barely) and their cases, including the zippers, are large and of good quality.
Customer Review: Great case! Summary: 5 StarsMy husband loves his CD case. For holding as much as it does, it really doesn't take up too much space. It's incredibly well built. He loves to take it to parties to show off his collection, it's usually the case itself that gets all the attention. Sleek look and as I said before, very well designed and super sturdy.
Customer Review: Unbelievable storage space savings Summary: 4 Stars Great product. Allowed me to bring all my discs together into one location and saved me a lot of space, allowing me to get rid of multiple cd cases and to store bulky dvd cases. Not perfect though, some of the sleeves are a little hard to get the dvds in and out of when other sleeves are full. Well worth it though.
