Customer Review: 3 types
Summary: 1 Stars

there are 3 dif types for this headphone: the ones released in 2002 (has 3.5 in model number), the ones released in 2008 (has sk in model number) and the ones released in 2009 (has bbz in model number). i dont know about the 2002 ones but the difference between the 2008 and 2009 ones is dramatic. the older pair has less color options less frequency range, 100 to 20k hz, and a rubber cord. the newer ones have more colors a nylon braided cable and 18 to 20k hz freq response. get the new ones they are better! I got the 2008 ones before i realized this!

I think something went wrong with skullcandy because i looked on there site and they are still selling some of the old 2008 ones which they are claiming get 18 to 20k hz like the new ones. this seems realistic considering the fact what i consider to be bass is 60 to 80/90 hz, so, if they can only produce 100 to 20k hz they cant produce any bass at all. but the package says 100 to 20k hz on it and they CAN produce bass. weird. must have been some kind of screw up or something.

Customer Review: Not bad for the price.

The sound on these ear buds is really nice. It even has good bass (yes, on earbuds). To make a long story short; these earbuds are a good bang for your buck. They sound good, they look nice, they feel comfortable, and they're less than $20! If you're looking for decent quality sounding, outside noise reducing ear buds; these are for you.

I purchased another set of these headphones sometime last year. A few months ago the sound started acting up and I was only able to hear sound from one ear bud. So I would say the only problem with these earbuds is the life expectancy. Maybe they were just my old headphones, maybe not. For less than $20 bucks I was willing to give them another chance.

PS: Just don't buy the white Skullcandy earbuds. The quality of them is the same as any other color, I'm sure, but the rubber white part starts to turn yellow after a while even if you don't touch them with dirty hands. So I would say buy the white buds at your own risk. ;)

Customer Review: well... i didnt pay much
Summary: 4 Stars

good cheap pair of headphones. couple conditions though.

if you want really good sound quality, you probably shouldnt be expecting to pay 20 bucks. but they do beat the sound of the apple ones and many others ive heard. be careful with the wires, mine freyed and eventually both sides just stopped working. but on the other hand i got another pair, so you know they have to be at least good for the price. they are very comfortable, but you have to try the different sizes to make them not fall out. thats probably the problem of the dumbasses who say you cant move wearing them.

im not a freak about sound quality, but i know these are good for the price. you just have to be careful with them, you cant really just shove them into your pocket. and DONT wrap them around your ipod while they are plugged in, unless you want only one ear working after a week of having them

Customer Review: Not road-worthy
Summary: 1 Stars

I'd purchased these after a co-worker had expressed satisfaction with them. For the first few months, they were great. I liked the in-line volume control and the fitted silicone buds, which gives Skullcandy advantage well above other earbuds. (The in-line volume is especially handy on public transportation when trains go from screeching to dead-quiet and I don't want to dig in my bag or pocket to futz with iPod's volume every 2 minutes.)

Alas, these Skullcandy earbuds weren't tough enough. After only 4 months the wiring has shorted, right where it meets the audio jack, making listening impossible without twisting and jamming down the wiring into the jack with the finesse that used to be required of tuning TV antenna.

So now I have a $30-pair of worthless earphones. Ipod earbuds may be inferior but at least they lasted a couple years before they kicked the bucket.

Customer Review: Good packaging can't make up for awful sound quality
Summary: 1 Stars

I admit, I've only had these buds for a couple of days. Immediately when I put them in I could hear how awful the sound quality was, the low end sounds muted, the high end is tinny, the mids aren't bad. Maybe if you listen to music that doesn't have much low end these would work well for you. Even playing around with the equalization didn't help them out.

I've had them plugged into my laptop for about 16 hours at this point, playing music through them trying to see if they need a little breaking in. So far it hasn't done much for them.

About the only thing good I have to say is that they've felt pretty comfortable and they have a nice long cord (I'm really tall and most cords are too short), and they seem to block out a good amount of noise.

There are probably better ear buds in this price range, stay away from these.
