Customer Review: Relief after years of searching!

First, the Pros:
The bass is truly incredible, and adjustable! The Cord may be shorter than others, but that keeps it from being tangled or damaged, thus ruining the headphones. They are EXTREMELY comfortable and fit perfectly around my ears. They are very light weight, but seem to be engineered to be very durable! They perform like a champ at high volumes and sound crisp, clear, and near-perfect under almost any conditions! Their 1/8" jack is gold plated to ensure a perfect connection when plugged into any jack and they come with a gold plated 1/8" to 1/4" adapter. They also come with an adapter for airplanes. Both adapters and one AA battery comes wrapped up in an amazing silky case. The headphones fold up much smaller than many and fit into the draw string case.
One note to audiophiles, there is no need to burn these in! Because of the bass amplifier and sub-woofers, these headphones provide 100% range right out of the box. Lastly, I'm going to consider it a pro that the first time I listened to them I had the bass all the way up and the volume so loud that I got a huge headache but didn't want to take them off!
One or two Cons:
If you're listening to music or a movie that already has a lot of bass, sometimes the sound can get muddy, but ONLY if you have the adjustment on the amplifier all the way up. They adjust! So, it's hardly a con. The muddiness comes from how much these things POUND. It's not something that can be easily avoided when the sub-woofer is physically so near to and practically anchored to the main loudspeakers. Once you find the right balance, they will amaze you! If your battery dies and you don't have one to replace it, these headphones still sound great, but with little, to no bass. They are designed to be listened to with the bass on. They only reason to have the amp off is if you're listening to spoken word or if you're not listening to the headphones. They are the classic setup of a mid-high range loudspeaker paired with a sub-woofer.
One last thing is that the initial packaging is too hard to get into. It's almost impossible if you don't have hefty scissors, kitchen sheers or a steady hand with a sharp knife. I cut myself on the plastic while trying to get the headphones out. If I had needed to return them (which I would never dream of now) I would not have been able to put them back in, as I did with the other 4 kinds of headphones that disappointed me so much!
Other notes:
I have owned/used expensive mid to high end headphones for most of my life. Recently I've been trying to find a durable set of headphones to replace my noise canceling headphones that were amazing sounding, but built like a toy. They broke after a few months, and I have returned several hundreds of dollars worth of headphones trying to find a decent replacement for them! So called "passive" noise canceling is so much easier and cheaper to do than "noise-canceling". The technology hasn't been developed enough. So, if you don't want to spend $200 for a "good" pair, just find an amazing pair of regular headphones that have a good seal and you won't need noise canceling.
After about 4 pairs of headphones that had no low end bass and/or felt like a vice on my head I found these. I didn't even know that SkullCandy made headphones, I thought they were a strictly in-ear brand. Thank god I was told to take a look at [...].
I have had the best experience so far with these headphones. I ordered them under super-saver free shipping and they were delivered 2 days later!!! The bass amplifier only needs 1 AA battery, which is what I need for my digital camera, so I have 6 pairs of rechargeables. I finally got my wish and am a HUGE fan of SkullCandy now.
