Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Skullcandy SC-SBW3.5 Smokin Buds Headphones - WhiteCustomer Review: Great earbuds for the price Summary: 4 Stars
So after reading a bunch of reviews about these and having owned a pair for over 2 years, I have to put in my two cents. I'm not sure what people are doing with there stuff or earbuds, but all the reviews of people saying these are crap or fall apart or what not seem pretty ridiculous to me. I have had these for 2 years and they are still holding up great. I take care of my stuff, don't let it sit in the sun, or stay in my car in the freezing cold, I don't sit on them, or bend the cords up, or throw them at people. I'm not saying I baby my earbuds, but I do take care of them, and it shows as I have had them for over 2 years now. They are great earbuds for the price. Great sound, great bass response, good quality as far as I'm concerned. The only thing bad I can say about these is that they do tend to wiggle their way free from your ears when you move and the cord is moved. It takes a decent amount of body action and moving of the cord for them to start to come out slightly, but it's somewhat annoying when your trying to workout and your earbud is coming out and you can't hear the music. Also, the volume adjuster is right at chest level and when your doing exercises where your chest is pressed into a piece of equipment, it can easily adjust the volume for you without you even touching them and can turn the volume all the way down just by barely moving. That is pretty annoying. There is no need for a volume adjuster in-line, there is a volume adjust on your ipod, no need for another one.
So just a quick reminder, people who say these are low quality pieces of junk probably don't take care of their stuff very well as I have had these for over 2 years and I have a buddy who has had a pair over 1.5 years and neither one of us have had a problem with the quality at all, in fact I would say they are pretty durable compared to some other popular brand earbuds costing twice as much. So when someone says something is low quality on a $16 pair of earbuds, take it with a grain of salt and realize that they probably don't treat their gear very good. Of course some people will have bad luck and get a faulty pair, but overall, I would say these are great for the price.
Pros:
-Great sound
-Great bass
-Look unique
-Great cord slider to pull the cord up under your chin tight
-Great quality in my experience
-Can't beat the sound for the price, they sound just about as good as 20-80 earbuds
Cons:
-Annoying volume adjuster
-Fit is good, but they can slowly move out of ear while body is moving or cord is moved
