Recently, I've been on a headphone tear trying on different kinds of headphones and trying to see which one I like the best. I wanted to move away from earbuds because earbuds really bother my ears and I was looking for something different. Living in St. George, Utah, I decided to support a state produced by trying out some Skullcandy headphones, specifically these. The difference is noticeable when making the transition from crappy iPod earbuds to on-ear headphones. The sound is a little fuller and it isolates more than the earbuds did. However, the plastic feels cheap and I worry when I ultimately fold them and toss them into my bag, they're going to snap. For the most part, having sampled a pair of BOSE and Beats by Dre, Skullcandy Lowriders are nowhere in the same zone. I will say for $25-$30 range, I'm sure you can do better, but honestly, if you're not looking for the "greatest" sound in the world, but a step up from earbuds, these are fine. It's good for average guys, but will be nowhere near good enough for the stingiest music lover.
