Customer Review: THE WORST earbuds ever!!!

These are the worst headphones. Save yourself some grief and avoid them at all costs. I have had two brand new pairs of these in the past six months and both have gone out on me! With the first pair, the sound in one of the earbuds shorted out and there was no way to recover it. There is nothing more frustrating than running with sound only in one ear. I didn't have to worry because the other earbud went out about a week after, so they were as good as garbage!
Now, I've worked in PR for consumer electronics, and I try not to judge a single product because I know there is always different factors coming into play. Stupid me went and bought the exact same headphones and, lo and behold, the exact same thing happened! Within 3 months, the headphones are now totally inoperable - first one earbud went and then the other. I was stupid to buy these in the first place and I warn you to buy some Sony's or another decent brand if you want headphones that will last.

Don't get me wrong. I love these earbuds. I have the kinds of ears that no hard plastic earbud will fit in, and these are super comfy and fit precisely.
But.
I have the pink ones with the white cord, and they have shown their use pretty fast. I use them probably 3 or 4 days out of the week, and they get shoved in and out of pockets, backpacks, etc. The place where the cord is reinforced at the plug is splitting. And the white rubbery cord is getting super dingy. I have had these for about 4 or 5 months.
I love my Skullcandy earbuds, but even the Smokin' Buds we had before died after about 6 months of constant use, because the plastic parts separated from the cord at the earbud.
I guess I can live with it since they are pretty darn reasonably priced, but I hate throwing things away. I'd rather pay a little more and have them last longer! Gonna try the next level up for my next pair and see how those fare.

These earbuds offer pretty good sound for the price. The bass quality is better than most in the price range, but they fade out some of the higher sounds. I like the fact that they fit snugly inside the ear canal creating a noise cancellation effect. I could be in a noisy room and not hear anything except the music I was listening to. When the wires rub against your clothing or anything else you can hear it pretty loudly inside the speaker so I wouldn't recommend these for someone who is going to use these earbuds while exercising. After about 4 months of owning these earbuds the right side slowly started fizzing out. I could get it to work with manipulation but after a while they just stopped working completely. This may be because I am probably rougher than most with my music player, or it may be that the earbuds were poorly made, either way at such a low price I wouldn't hesitate to give these earbuds another try.Customer Review: Just what the heck happened?

So, I owned a pair of these headphones last year for the ENTIRE year from FYE. Seriously they lasted that long and from constant use. Then, they broke so I bought a new set (the blue one) from FYE and guess what? They only lasted about two months before the left speaker blew out and I hardly even used 'em. I thought, like previous reviewers, that it was just randomn and bought a pink pair again at my college bookstore. Well, after two months again they broke! I can't believe what a crap these headphones have took. I'm sitting here right now completely displeased that I'll be trapped in the college computer lab with no music to get me through the excessive cell phone conversations for hours whine whine whine. I can honestly say DO NOT purchase these! They USED to be good but now it's just crap. Crap. Crap. C r a p. I am not tempted to go to the bookstore and buy another pair. Heck no. Just received these headphones about a week ago and I have to say I LOVE them! I have always used the cheap headphones that came with my ipod not really thinking that there was a difference. When they broke I decided to go online and order a pair that matched my case (in pink) so I bought these. The sound quality is amazing. A drastic change from my ipod headphones. You can really hear the bass in songs. Now I can hear parts that I had never boticed before!
I also bought a pair of J3 earbuds as a spare, and these skullcandy ones are much better, even though they cost a fraction of the price I paid for the Jbuds. From now on I will only be buying skullcandy headphones. And the fact that they come in so many colors is a plus too.
