Customer Review: Great Idea - Poor Design

I use this thing regularly, but begrudgingly because it's the only device of its kind I can find and I need this kind of device. I don't want to isolate myself from my husband while I'm listening, so this device does permit conversation. It serves its purpose, doing what it's designed to do, but the design is so seriously flawed.

The device plugs into your music player, then your buds or phones plug into this device. This thing is huge because it takes either AA or AAA batteries (I forget which), when it could be made so much smaller had it been designed to use smaller batteries instead. All of us have to deal with excess bud or phone wire as it is. This thing has way too much additional wire at either end of the switch, adding an enormous amount of wiring to deal with. What a mess.

In addition to the swtich being huge, and the wiring being excessive, there is a separate microphone. Why, oh, why couldn't the switch, as large as it is, house the microphone as well? Why couldn't the clip(s) be more user-friendly?? It takes an act of congress to get either the switch or the microphone attached to your shirt.

I also notice some cutting in and out of one bud or phone when using this device. I do not experience that when using the same buds or phones alone.

If you gotta have a device like this, this thing will work, but I would gladly pay this much again for a better-designed device.
