Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Shure MPA-3C Music Phone Adapter for iPhoneCustomer Review: Exactly what I needed Summary: 5 Stars
I had a pair of Sony headphones that had an extension but that piece stopped working which bummed me out because the headphones sounded really great for the price. I found this adapter and considered buying it as a replacement but when I got my new iPhone, felt I had to go for it. I'm not disappointed: works as it should, providing pause and call answer with music and even skips ahead and back with multiple presses of the button. Plus it's long enough that my phone can go in my pants pocket if easily. helps me get better sound from my music than the stock iPhone headphones and I don't lose functionality; can't go wrong.
Customer Review: Please. Times are tough, why spend more? Summary: 2 Stars
Okay, so in all honesty, I've only had this product for 2 days before I returned it back to the Apple Store because-- on principle-- I didn't believe in paying 30$+ dollars on something that simply converts your existing headphones to iPhone 3G(S) headphones with the mic and a button.
Instead I got one for 5$ dollars through Amazon. It does the exact same thing. I wrote a review for it.

Customer Review: Short lifespan (about 3 months) Summary: 1 Stars
This product was provided after my second Shure headset pair was broken again and sent under the warranty. Since the product that has the built-in microphone was discontinued, Shure representative sent this adaptor. This product last literally less than three months, now one channel doesn't work and sounds break all the time. I thought this product was a high quality because of the price and reviews posted previous years. I guess their quality standards are no longer the same. Other user have complained about this product about the same issue. Beware, I think it might be an ongoing quality issue.
Customer Review: Great Add-on Summary: 5 Stars
I use the phone adapter with my Blackberry Pearl, and it works very well. Callers tell me that my voice comes through loud and clear, even in noisy environments. And, of course, I can use my choice of headphones, which happen to be Shure also, allowing me to hear my caller as clearly as possible. As other reviewers have commented, the only awkwardness is the amount of wire. But, I've experimented with a couple different methods of cinching up the extra wire - keep in mind that it's the wire from the headphones, not the adapter, which ends up being the extra wire - and it's not so bad.
Customer Review: Broke after a few months Summary: 1 Stars
This worked fine at first. After a few months, it started to wear down so the audio would only work in certain positions. I've had it for 9 months now, and it's essentially unusable.
I would have given it 2 stars, except that you can get the same product for $[...]. I just received this item and it works great with my iphone 3g:

Granted, it may break down in a few months as well, but at least I didn't pay $[...] for it. At this price, I don't feel bad about buying a replacement.
