Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Shure E4c Sound Isolating EarphonesCustomer Review: Best for $200 Summary: 5 Stars
I owned Shure E3 for over a year, incredible in ear, isolating headphones. Ufortunately, my bag containing said headphones was stolen.
I decided to upgrade and go with the E4. I'm so happy!!!!
It does take at least 20 hours for these to 'kick in'. Once they do...... Nothing like I've heard. Far superior to the E3..... And I miss my cans....
You will hear your music in a new light.
If your not serious about audio, or you don't care about quality, these are not for you. Furthermore, If you're not comfortable having somthing in your ear canal, these are also not for you.
I suggest the foam inserts or custom fit ear molds.
As for people who have rated other head phones, other than the E5, over these...... I strongly disagree.
Once you learn how to use them and once they break in, AWESOME!
Enjoy!
Customer Review: Reasonable product Summary: 3 Stars
I like these but don't love them. I prefer the sound of my Koss KSC75s (especially when I place a slight pressure to them with my hands!). These cost one-quarter of the price, but I wanted some noise reducing phones to use at my gym (to drown out the crap they play there). I love the long cord and the angle of the stems on the body of the phones and the large set of covers that come with them. However, I wish they and other companies would pack more foam pieces as these always work best but are the least durable.
I have bought quite a number of earphones in my search for the ultimate sound - I should have just saved all the money and invested in the type that require a personalised earmould. BTW, I have Ultimate Ears super.fi 3 studios, and the E4c's are much, much better. This is true with respect to sound (they provide a much broader sound-scape, nicer bass and hi-end) and construction.
Customer Review: Fantastic! Summary: 5 Stars
As other comments have stated, these are not for the "Rockford Fosgate Bass-Heads". They provide a well-rounded, full listening experience as the musician intended it to be. The different sleeves provide the user with a fit that works for almost anyone. I am still torn over the sponge sleeves and the triple-flange. Both provide outstanding sound and a solid fit. Other buds that I've owned tend to slip after several minutes of use. Since I like to listen to my Ipod while riding my motorcycle, this creates a problem. With the triple-flange, these things don't budge.
Speaking of using them while riding my motorcycle (not recommended), my bike is louder than hell. With these buds, I can still hear the music perfectly. While they were a little expensive, I am thrilled with the investment.
Once you get past the break-in period, you won't regret your decision.
Customer Review: Good all-around earphones Summary: 4 Stars
I first tried the Etymotics ER-4P and found them very honest, but too shrill for my taste. Sent them back and traded them in for a pair of the Sure E4c. I think the Sure isn't quite as accurate, a really good pair of speakers will beat them for picking out distinct sources of sound, but the E4c's have a good even response range that suits me very well. Nice base, you swear you can feel the thump in your chest. I think in-ear-monitors are very personal in fit, everyone's ears are shaped different, and you need a good tight seal to really hear what they can do. Getting that without sacrificing comfort can be difficult to do, but Sure includes a generous variety of earpieces for you to try to help find the right one for you. To reduce microphonics (picking up sound from the cords bumping against things), wrap the cords up over the front and top of your ear and down the back.
Customer Review: I CAN HEAR THE MUSIC Summary: 4 Stars
I just recently joined the IPOD generation after resisting for many years. IPOD's earphones did not fit my ears well and kept falling out. The Shure E4c definitely has a size that fits my ears well. I would have given this product 5 stars if not for the extremely high price. It cost as much as my IPOD NANO! It comes with a nice compact case that protects it well. BUT! for the price, it should have some sort of whiz-bang fandango thing that retracts the cord back into the case. It is somewhat of a pain to have to roll up the cord manually when putting it away and untangle it when taking it out.
Hey! the product works and it works well. Yes, I would buy it all over again. AND, complain about the price TOO. For the price this thing should come with 100 free music downloads of your choice! And, even then I'm sure (Shure) they would still make a profit! "Nuff Said."
