Love the feel of the case. It's got a rubberized feel without the rubber flimsiness. I showed it my phone to my girlfriend, who was amazed that the new iPhone 3GS came with a rubber back. Of course when I explained it was the case, she was amazed.
I like that it doesn't cover the silver bezel completely, which leaves more than enough space for a screen protector on the front of the phone. As others have stated, the cutout for the apple logo on the back is useful when you're trying to get it out of your pocket. The weight does not add to the phone, and I feel more secure in handling the phone. I also got a screen protector, now the phone should stay fresher from scratches for longer.
I'm doubtful of its ability to protect the phone if I were to drop it, but I'm not planning on dropping this $300 thing so it's irrelevant. Bought it for the scratch protection and now i'm not concerned about putting it on a table or somewhere where it may be scratched.

I had to replace my inCase cover for my iPhone as it had cracked - not pleased, but when I searched for a new case, I found this one. I received it in good order and it is an excellent case. Will it be THE case for me forever? Only time will tell:
- very slim design - adds very little bulk to the phone, unlike other cases
- snaps right on - no sliding, no multiple parts
- great form and fit - feels good in the hand - rubberized material appears to be a good design for the function of the case
- I am concerned that the cutouts for the buttons/switches are oversized - not sure why that is
- Case does not wrap all the way around like other cases - the silver on the 3G is exposed in places and the case does not cover the top and bottom (in between the corners) of the phone - it DOES cover all corners, so I feel it will be OK - but again, time will tell.
Overall I really like it so far. I just hope it will stay that way.
Customer Review: AWFUL PRODUCT & AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE

I had it for less than 7 weeks and the rubber coating had started peeling off. I take good care of my items and there was no reason for it to peel except a manufacturer's defect. I contacted Digital Media Source and their response by Marianne Buccellato-Customer Service Manager was "Sorry we only have a 30 day return policy". I was not looking to return it but just have the merchant stand by their product and replace the defective merchandise. Do yourself a favor and buy from a source that stands by their products and understands customer service. The Elago is a similar slim case and I had it for 6 months with no peeling even after accidentally dropping it once. I am going back to using the Elago slim case and if you do not want to have the same bad experience as I did go buy the Elago. The only reason I gave this company 1 star is because the product arrived on time. This is probably so they can take your money quicker.Customer Review: Must have cover for all iphone users.

I don't know about you, but the one thing I hate the most about phones is the bulkiness. The iPhone is ideal because of it's slim profile, but once you add on some of the protective cases some people offer you seem to add bulk along with making the slim, slick profile of the iPhone look like a graphing calculator.
The Shield is a great product that protects the back from scratches because we all have to put the iPhone down on surfaces at some point. It offers a great design that does not take away from slim, nice-line profile of the iPhone. It doesn't add bulk and fits very snug.
So for those who brought the iPhone with the slim design in mind then this is a great purchase worth every penny and for those who wants to add thickness to the phone, well there are a lot of products out there that makes your phone look like you are holding a remote control.
To each their own.
Customer Review: Exactly what I wanted in a skin

I just got a new 3GS iphone. This is my 2nd iPhone, the fist being the 2G. For 2G I used Corzip and was going to order a same brand for the new 3GS. However I saw several reviews on the SHIELD and liked the photos. I am very happy I went with SHIELD. Here is my reasons. 1. It kept my iphone slim. 2. The grip is sticky enough to hold but slippery enough for my pants pockets. 3. It molds onto the iphone perfectly and both side are black, not painted over as in my previous Corzip skin. and 4. the edges are rounded, unlike Corzip. It's hard to explain but take a look and compare the two and you will understand. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has the iphone 3GS.
Note, this does not come with a screen protector so you will have to purchase a separate item. I know iphone advertised that it's scratch proof and all that but better safe than sorry.
