Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sennheiser PMX80 In-Ear Sport Series II Behind the Head Earphones

Customer Review: Could have lasted longer
Summary: 3 Stars

The left speaker is dead after less than a year of use. The sound cuts in and out if I wiggle the wire near the headphone jack. It has a 2 year warranty so I think I can get it replaced, still I don't want to pay the shipping and fill out all the forms but I guess I have no choice.

One thing that bothers me is the headphone jack is hard plastic and is an elbow shape coming out. If you use the Nike Plus sensor it will rub against it. Also some armbands don't work with this elbow jack so double check. Makes me wonder if there are any runners in their engineering department.

Aside from that they do sound good, they are a bit faded but I run alot.

Customer Review: Poorly made, cheap materials, in comparison to PMX70s
Summary: 2 Stars

I am an owner of the Sennheiser PMX70 Sport Series headphones (the predecessor to the PMX80s, the green ones). The old version is MUCH better made than the new one, using higher quality rubber and plastic. I suggest buying the PMX70s instead, if you can find them for a similar price. Both headphones sound decent and look great and stay on very well even during rigorous exercise. Both claim to be water resistant and I have no reason to think otherwise. (Make sure you keep the rubber earbud covers on, because otherwise sweat can seep in.) Ultimately not a bad buy but I think Sennheiser shaved off some production costs and changed up the color and called it a "new model"

Customer Review: Just what I wanted
Summary: 5 Stars

Light, comfortable and a secure fit these earbud type headphone have decent sound. As a runner I have tried various different styles of headphones including the standard type supplied with an Ipod, Sony ones with an over the ear clip and old fashion light weight foam covered with an over the head band. None were very secure once I stared to sweat. These Sennheiser PMX-80's have been excellent with regard to fit, and comfort. The sound is decent but obviously not as good as a comparably priced over the ear model one might use indoors. But that OK because for running or exercise in general the very best fidelity is of secondary importance. I highly recommend these.

Customer Review: the sound is better than the cheap ones.
Summary: 5 Stars

for the price i paid for on amazon, it's cheap! the quality of the sound is so good that i threw away my cheap $20 headphones. it's very lightweight, fits securely on my ears, and only one cord hangs on the left side. there is no cord coming from the right side, so there is less cord interfering with your workout! Ear buds hurt my ears after 30 minutes of usage. these sennheiser ones doesn't hurt at all! one additional reason why i love these is that they have open sound too. Meaning, if you're jogging outside, you can also hear some outside noise which is good for safety reasons. but the outside noise doesn't overcome your music unless you jog in the downtown area.

Customer Review: Purpose built
Summary: 3 Stars

I purchased these headphones to replace the multitude of iPhone ear buds I have burned through while exercising. They perform admirably with regard to durability, sound quality, and resistance to moisture. Unfortunately they may also be the most uncomfortable headphones I've ever worn. They don't encroach upon the unusable, but after 40 minutes or so, they definitely become noticeable, and the feeling that is experienced when you remove therm can only be described as relief. If you are looking for a durable product that you don't need to replace every 2 months these may fit the bill, just be warned that they will probably never be your "around the house" headphone.
