Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sennheiser PMX 70 Sport Earbud Line Stereo Neckband HeadphoneCustomer Review: Perfect Summary: 5 Stars
I tried all the new sport lines from Sennheiser. These are comfortable and have excellent range of sound from the highs to the lows. One cord = less tangles and "fooling" to adjust single earpieces as you walk or run. When not using at work, they fit nicely around your neck. With single buds, they dangle or get cord tangled up. Thesework well with my sunglasses also. Light, no pain in ears at all even after 2-3 hours straight wear. The "twist to fit" are clumsy to try and fit. Trust they will move out of position when you walk or move your head thus losing all bass. The clip on versions are a joke. Hard fit, no bass..barely rest on your canal. I am a big fan of the Sony Fontopias for the "in ear sound" (that drowns out noise...for when I study). These Sennheiser behind the necks are my second pair. You can still hear ambient sound. Recommended if you are active or like the idea of one cord and one piece set up.. Best to not wear a collared shirt with these but rather a tshirt. The back of the brace will keep bumping the collar when you move your head up or down or sideways and is annoying. Tshirt has best clearance. Unless you stare at the ceiling all day.
Customer Review: Exactly what I was looking for Summary: 5 Stars
I bought these headphones last November (for $37.35, too) and they have worked great. I use them when I workout -- jogging, walking, strength training. I sweat A LOT and as far as I can tell the soakings have had no ill effect on them thus far. The sound is great, better than Apple's earbuds but of course not Bose quality.
I'm a girl and have a small head, and I suppose technically these headphones are too big, but that there is space between the band and the back of my head has not really mattered -- my ponytail swishes against it when I jog, but I can only hear it if the music is off. They are perfectly secure via the looping over the top of my ears and unlike earbud-style headphones I have used previously, I don't have to worry about them staying in or constantly readjust them while running to keep them comfortable. They stay on great and I don't even notice them.
The sound is good, the wear is comfortable, the look is low-key (I was worried green would stand out, but it doesn't), and these headphones have kept going like new despite my heavy sweating. Really, they are just what I was looking for. I definitely recommend them.
Customer Review: All that I wanted and more! Summary: 5 Stars
After finding out that the earbuds from my iPod contributed heavily to a string of ear infections i was dealing with, the decision to buy a new headset was made for me. Initally I really wanted the Bose headphones, but couldnt justify spending that amount of money on a headset (even just the 100 dollar earbuds) and then sweating all over them at the gym, not to mention that the problem would not be alleviated with another set of earbuds. I read some reviews saying that the PMX70 headset delivered less that quality sound and was not comfortable. I have to say that I ordered it expecting an uncomfortable headset with poor sound, and i was shocked when upon first use, i fell in loooooove with these headphones!!! I love the electric green color, but thats just the girl in me coming out :), they deliver amazing sound, and are very very comfortable for use in the gym. They are the only set or headphones I have ever used that did not budge once during a run, even when the sweat started running into my ears, and the sound never falters. I think that short of spending an insane amount of money on headphones to sweat on, these are an amazing value and great product!
Customer Review: Good sound but not build well enough Summary: 3 Stars
I loved these when I first got them about a year ago - good sound and nice fit without flopping out of my ears when running. I use these solely for tread mill and outdoor runs and up to this point have not found ear buds that will stay in my ear, sound good, and last. These do the first two but after about 9 months I noticed that all of the metal parts were rusting, screws mostly but that worried me. Then the cord started coming apart from the end that plugs into the MP3 player. The next thing to happen is the sound started cutting out when any sweat comes into contact with either of the speakers.
Now I understand that making a headphone that can hold up to daily use and sweat and moisture is tough so maybe this is the most you can ask for but I wish these were more durable. Sometimes when they dry out and I have no sweat on my head the sound works but as soon as a drop of sweat gets in my ear the sound cuts out.
I am at a point now where I only get about half sound and unless I tap the actual speakers and wiggle the cord it will not play at full volume.
Maybe they are only designed to last a year?
Customer Review: Best sound in a sports headphone Summary: 4 Stars
I have gone through several other sports headphones (Philips / Nike being my previous favorite). These are now my favorite.
Pros:
1) These have the best sound for working out.
2) The bass response on these is very strong, even a bit boomey in the lower frequencies. If you like this then you will love these.
3) They stay in position perfectly in any upright sports activity (running, riding, walking, etc).
4) The cord seems to be quality material. We will see how long it lasts.
Cons:
1) Be sure you are comfortable with headphones which go behind the neck. If you are doing weights where you are lying on your back, they will get bumped out of your ears.
2) I don't use them for travel due to the bass response and them getting bumped when you lean back in a chair. The bass annoys me after a couple hours. That is when I break out my Sony in-the-ear headphones which have much more accurate sound reproduction without the boomeyness and neck loop.
3) This is the most I've paid for sports headphones.
4) Lime green may not be your color.
