Customer Review: DON'T BELIEVE ANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS.....
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought these to replace those famous indestructible yellow Sony Sports (mine are almost 10 years old and they still sound good). I wanted to try this new style of neckband headphones. I did try the in-ear Skullcandy phones, but they would not stay in my ears no matter which size gel I used. They were the best sounding headphones I have ever tried though. Returned them for the new Sony Sport clip-on style. These things would slip off without my even moving. There was nothing sport about them. Back they went.
I was hesitant about spending over $50 bucks on headphones, but decided to make the jump anyway. Let's just say Money Well Spent.
I am listening to them as I write this review to see if I experience the discomfort that other reviews mentioned after wearing them for a while. Almost an hour and just as comfortable as when I first put them on. There is just enough pressure to keep them secure. And they seem to be very secure.
I love the one-wire design. This should be the standard design on any non-earbud style headphones.
The sound quality is excellent for what they are and how well they do what they are supposed to do. These are Sport headphones. They are designed to stay in place first, be comfortable second, and sound good last. Although sound was probably the last design priority as with most sport headphones, these are arguably the best sounding SPORT headphones you could buy.

Customer Review: A good sport headphone.
Summary: 4 Stars

These headphones do what they set out to do, be a good sport headphone. You can't expect perfect sound from sport headphnes, that is not their primary objective. What these headphones do well is stay in your ears while being physically active. Their sound is nowhere near as complete or rich as Sony's phonotopia headphones, but unlike Sony's earbuds, they actually stay in your ears. This is achieved by way of a single cord to the left earphone instead of cords to each ear (which can get caught on just about anything), and a horizontal head piece.

The only fault I have found with these headphones is with the wrap-around type head piece. It is too big and not adjustable. I guess the manufacturer was trying to make a universal size, but it is big. I must angle the head-piece up towards the top of my head to make it fit well, which seems to work without degrading the sound too much.

The headphones work well with sunglasses and sound pretty good. But, do not expect the same quality of sound that good earbuds will give you. The earpieces on these headphones are not adjustable and therefore cannot be fit to your ears. But, as I said, this is not the reason you are buying sport headphones.

What these headphones were made to do (stay in your ears during physical activity), they do well. But don't expect perfect sound quality or complete blockage of ambient noise.

Customer Review: Finally, headphones for running!
Summary: 5 Stars

Let me say it right up front: the iPod has revolutionized my running. After 30 years of pounding the pavement, injuries were beginning to take their toll and boredom was becoming an issue. It was getting easier and easier to look out the door and say "Oh, geeze, it's overcast today; better not run."

The iPod changed that; running with programable non-skipping music was great. I found my motivation again.

EXCEPT.....

This earbuds that come with the IPod are terrible. The jarring thump of pounding the pavement pops them out every few yards. I was on a quest to find a replacement.

The Sennheiser PMX70s are the answer for any runner. The design places the earpieces comfortably in the ears. Soft rubber surround the peice so they are in there to stay. The headpiece wraps around the back of the head but does not come in physical contact, however, this design stabalizies the phones and keep them in place.

The sound is a vast improvemnt over the original issue earbuds and surpass any other "exercise phones" I have tried (and believe me, I've tried a lot). They will not top over the ear models for sound quality but for running, the sound is quite good with good highs and great bass (I recommend setting the iPod EQ on the "Loudness" setting). You can also hear outside noises so you can remain alert to the dangers of the road.

Customer Review: Good but overpressured
Summary: 4 Stars

After someone stole my Bang & Olufsen A8s, I read many reviews, and bought these PMX70s. They sound surprisingly good, are trivial to put on, and stay securely in place. In-ear models sound better, but one doesn't want all the other bodily noises that are audible when exersizing with in-ear phones.

The single cord is an advantage, and they're ideal for running, good for biking. My daughter likes them, too, no mean feat.

My only complaint: the pressure that keeps them secure also means wearing them for more than an hour becomes painful. So they don't really replace the A8s, and I'll also need to get a pair of the Sennheiser OMX70s for walking around. [Added a week later] A minor annoyance for biking, when traveling downhill fast, there is a lot of wind noise, perhaps due to the sticking-out design.

[3/2009 - the plastic outside the cable is finally starting to crack, at 3 yrs not so surprising, and they were left in the sun from time to time.]

[6/2009 - the cracked cable bothered me, so I bought another pair, which remain my high-school daughter's favorites.]

[5/2010 - she broke another pair, they are stuffed into a purse without ceremony. The new state of the art seems to be the Sennheiser-made Adidas earphones, PMX 680, which are at least as good, although they cost more.]

Customer Review: Great name - Great sound - Great design
Summary: 4 Stars

I searched the big box stores for many months for a quality, neckband style sport headphones with the all important single cord. I was using a similar style headphone with a brand name of GPX; a low end, giveaway brand. They were comfortable, but quality sound? Of course not.

I finally searched [...] and discovered the Sennheiser PMX70. I then researched the product even further at Sennheiser's website. I've known for years that Sennheiser stands for high quality, and since this product had all the features I was seeking, I had to buy it.

The first thing I did when the headphones arrived was to plug them into my iPod and conduct a direct comparison of GPX to Sennheiser. Not only was the Sennheiser slightly louder, but it was much clearer. I discovered instrumentation on songs that I never heard with the GPX.

These are very comfortable headphones! I don't like the feel of earplugs in my ears and don't like how earplugs tend to loosen during exercise. The line cord of the Sennheiser has a small clip which I use to clip the cord to the waistband of my shorts. My only somewhat negative comment is that the material used to make the line cord has a lot of "memory" from when it was coiled in the package. It is "relaxing" and the line clip is helpful, but I prefer a "straight" line cord.
