Customer Review: Not worth the price.. you may want some super glue as well!
Summary: 2 Stars

Hmm.. for $40 earbud headphones (that aren't in-ear) I was expecting a bit more. Maybe it's just the fact that they are earbuds but they don't sound any better than the standard iPod earbuds. For a premium brand like Sennheiser (I also own a set of HD 575 big headphones, and smaller around the neck PMX 200s, both excellent headphones). I got these for the gym and for walking on the way to work, as I don't care for the extra effort of anything larger. The problem however is they are pretty uncomfortable, I don't quite get the Twist to Fit feature. One problem I had with my iPod earbuds is they would often fall out of my ear enough to hurt the sound, and these do a better job with that, but they fit oddly and I'm definitely not geting optimum sound of them due to that.

The real problem however is the green rubber buds that give you two options for ear coverage. The iPod-like ones work the best, BUT they fall off very easily. I use an iPod nano and simply wrap my headphones around it when on the go, placing it in my pocket, and unravelling when I listen to it. This worked with no problem on the iPod. But with these it only took a few days of that before they started falling off. Before you know I'd lost one on the floor, which my cat proceeded to start chewing on (and tear in half) one day. Down one. I replace with the other set, and 2 days later those have also vanished. Presumably fell out of my pocket or something. Now these are useless till I get some replacements, which cost $5 from Sennheiser, and another $5 for shipping!! I don't know if they're shipping theset things from Germany or what but for things that can't cost more than a cent to manufactur they sure are raping me. I'm going to have to get them though, and I'm also going to get a tube of Superglue in the hopes of gluing them on will prevent them from falling off ever again.

In short, don't buy these if you're looking for a replacement for the iPod earplugs, they're no better. The odd cable arrangement where one side is longer than the others that many have mentioned also here is definitely very strange too. It works, but it just looks goofy. Could be a problem in certain scenarios.

Customer Review: a runner's best friend
Summary: 5 Stars

Wow, these are great! I suffer from Sweaty Ear, which causes normal earbuds to fall out after about 5 minutes of any physical activity. And, of course, regular earbuds fall out at the slightest provocation, which turns my run into a freakish stop-and-go of adjusting my earbuds, running for a minute, stopping to adjust the earbuds again, wiping the sweat off my ears to see if that helps, and finally just taking the damn things out in a fit of frustration, and running the rest of the way without any music.

Well, these little things are a thousand times better than any regular earbuds I've tried - they have a little stalk that comes up behind the earbuds, with a little nubbin that goes into your ear, effectively wedging the things into your OUTER ear (as opposed to just driving them further into your ears, which would be painful). And they stay there! I demonstrated for my husband when they first arrived, head-banging and jumping up and down and pretending to run and skip and move from side-to-side. And the things stayed in!

I figured I couldn't judge them quite yet, because I hadn't been running for 30 or 40 minutes to work up a serous sweat. But I have done so since then, and these stay in! It's weird at first, because if you've used earbuds in the past, you will be prepared to move them around every minute or 5. But you won't have to! And the cord-flapping problem, which will cause normal earbuds to be yanked out of your ears, is solved by a little clip that you can use to clip the top part of your headphones to your shirt. There is a LOT of cord included with these - I just ended up wrapping the extra cord around my ipod armband, which worked nicely. Then clip onto my shirt near my shoulder, and I can run and run without my earbuds dislodging.

In summary, these things RULE, and are completely worth the extra bucks you'll spend over some cheaper pairs of earbuds. The green color is a little ... uh, weird. I wish they were offered in black. But I will gladly put up with lime green in order to keep myself sane through a long workout by listening to music without adjusting my headphones 19 times. Hooray!

Customer Review: Lose Parts Easy
Summary: 3 Stars

I've had these ear buds for a few months now, and I have been disappointed. I needed running ear buds that would stay in my ear while I was running, which these ear buds do fine. But,There are many problems with them. First, the pieces come off easily, and are very easy to lose, and the ear buds are basically useless without the "Twist-to-Fit" parts. Second, when the wind blows against these ear buds, you can't hear anything at all. Third, the ear bud's cord is about five feet long, and when it splits off into two sections, one is about six inches shorter than the other. The sound quality isn't anything special either, it was stereo and all, but I wouldn't say it was amazing or anything, it might be a tad bit better than the stock ipod earphones. They do come with a neat carrying case and clip, which you better keep the earphones in at all times if you don't want the small parts to fall out. It also has a headphone jack that is a sideways "L" shape, which is fine if you have a Creative Zen 4 GB MP3 Player (Black) but if you have an Apple iPod nano 2 GB Silver (2nd Generation) it doesn't work as well. But That isn't too big of a problem. I wasn't exactly thrilled with the neon green color either. The price was pretty good. These were clearly made to take to the nice indoor gym, use them, and then put them back in there case till the next time you go to the gym, not for everyday use. Here is a quick conclusion
Pros:
They work
They Won't fall out of your ears
Neat-o carrying case and clip
Good Price
Cons:
You can lose the parts to the "Twist-to-Fit" system easily
You can't hear anything when the wind blows in them
Ridiculously portioned cord
Neon green color

Conclusion: These are great treadmill headphones, but I'm sure there are better headphones for outdoor running and everyday use than these.

Customer Review: Great sound, great quality, great performance
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had these headphones for about a month now and I love them. They're replacing a pair of Sony iPod in-ear headphones that I really wasn't happy with, to the point that I was ready to swear off earbuds and in-ear headphones altogether.
First, the MX-75's look great and feel really solid. The build quality is top-notch and I personally think the color scheme is gorgeous. Also, a staple of earbuds seems to be the little foam pads that cover them getting lost or torn and small pieces being a constant nuisance. On these headphones the parts snap in solid and stay there. Even the little foam covers seem to be made to a higher standard, they don't budge.
Second, the cord almost never tangles. My last pair of headphones, as well as others I've owned, seem to have a natural tendency to tangle and knot. The cord on the MX-75's resists tangling really well, and in the rare case of a small tangle it comes undone easily (again, unlike others I've owned).
Third, these may be the best-sounding earbuds I've ever owned - not just for the price, but full-stop. My last pair was more expensive, and I've had at least one other pair of earbuds that cost me twice as much, and these beat them all. They have excellent bass response, I was really surprised at how rich the low frequency response is. You can crank your iPod to max volume and you don't get any of the buzzing and distortion I've heard on all other earbuds I've owned. The frequency response is more consistent across the full volume range, too.
Lastly, they don't fall out and they don't come loose. I put them in and they stay put. I run and bike with them and haven't had a problem yet.
The very first time I wore them my ears were a little sore from the piece that twists into the ear, but it hasn't happened since. I still check the mirror when i put them in to make sure I've got them in right, but that's probably just me.
I've really got nothing bad to say about them. I couldn't be happier, especially for the price. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed.

Customer Review: Decent sound, big problems
Summary: 2 Stars

The sound is equivalent--no better, no worse--than older ear bud headphones from Sennheiser. That is to say, about $10-$20 Sony quality, with Sony having more bass and Sennheisers having perhaps a tiny touch more high end detail. The Sonys play louder, too. Sony MDR-E828LP Fontopia Earbuds with Winding Case--I buy a set of these for 10 to 20 bucks whenever I need a new set and they remain the best option. Markedly better sound quality and louder than iPod buds. Cheap, so perfect for working out. They stay in my ears very well.

The problem with these Sennheisers is--there is a green removable rubber gasket around the speaker itself and a round green piece that helps hold them in place. I say that they are removable, but they are not INTENDED to be removed. They are rubber, rather than plastic, and the idea is that the rubber helps the phones stay put.

Unfortunately, the gaskets and rubber pieces come off when taking them off--which means that you might miss where you lose the small rubber pieces and --bounce bounce--you will have a hard time finding them. I used mine about 4 days a week for a month and the first gasket came off and was lost. Within a week, another of the rubber peices came off, and then the second rubber gasket came off the other earphone. It is a clever design, but due to sharp edges, I can no longer use these headphones. Without the gaskets, the sharp edges will irritate your ears.

I got them on sale and decided to give them a whirl based upon sound quality and fit good reviews. The Sonys I mentioned before easily match the sound quality, play louder, and stay in my ear as well. And, are cheaper, and can be used until they really break, unlike the Sennheisers, which are junk because ill-planned rubber gaskets come right off the phones. I would NOT buy them again and I'd suggest the Sonys. Good luck.

I have never had a problem with earphones falling out of my ears, but do not think that these held into my ears any better than an average set of phones.
