Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sennheiser MX 75 Twist-To-Fit Stereo Sport EarbudsCustomer Review: very poor bass Summary: 1 Stars
I owned these for less than 24 hours before returning them due to them having almost no bass.
I noticed the poor bass response within 60 seconds of using them for the first time.
I find it ironic that these are "sport" headphones, given that most people listen to electronic music with deep, driving bass while they exercise, and these headphones performed VERY POORLY with that kind of music.
We've all had that experience on the treadmill when we are about to give up, about to slow down, and then all of a sudden your music picks up with a great, strong beat and it completely reinvigorates you, and gives you motivation to keep going. These headphones will ROB YOU of that experience!
So what if they stay in your ears. Since the music they provide is annoyingly tinny, you won't want them in your ears anyway!
I bought these to replace my stone-age Sony sport walkman-style headphones, the kind that pop out of your ears as soon as you start sweating and moving around. Amazingly, the old-school Sony headphones sound absolutely INCREDIBLE compared to these Sennheisers. I guess I'd rather adjust my headphones every 5 minutes than have consistently poor sound quality.
Buyer beware.
Customer Review: Good sound, so-so quality Summary: 3 Stars
I've used these for several months. Couple thoughts:
-- Nice sound. Clean, crisp, don't distort easily. Loud enough for even iPod Shuffle, etc.
-- The variety of ear pieces should ensure a snug fit, and they do stay in well.
-- I scoffed at all the complaints about "cord management," but they're legit. These cords have a spring-loaded, coiling effect unlike none I've ever had. It can be managed, by looping the excess cord and tying it off. But should you have to "manage" a cord that should just lie limp? Also, the cord is too long if you wear your player on your upper arm, as I do. You wind up with about four loops of extra cordage.
-- The pieces come off far too easily, as has been noted. Especially the little top pad dealie that snugs against your ear. Mine have popped off a half dozen times just during careful removal of the buds. I've been lucky enough to find them -- so far. (Maybe this is why they're flourescent green?)
Also, the back cover of one of my buds came unglued after a month's use. Some Gorilla glue solved that problem.
All in all: Good sound, nice concept for snugness. But I wouldn't buy them again because of all the other irritations.
Customer Review: Very Pleased.... Summary: 4 Stars
So after burning through those worthless apple headphones that came with my ipod I began my search... Started with a cheap pair of clip-on type of headphones that my wife had lying around, but they looked ridiculous (made my ears look huge) and were uncomfortable. I finally decided to stop looking like an idiot and by a decent pair of headphones to use in the gym.
First I bought the Sony headphones that wrap around your head and are supposed to stick in your ear- these did not stay in for more that 5 seconds and provided me with the worst gym experience ever.
I finally got the Sennheiser MX75 Twist-To-Fit In-Ear Stereo Sport Headphones and after some hesitation I was very pleased. Needless to say, I was very confused as to how to fit these things in my ear when I got them and once I did it was a little uncomfortable, but ultimately these are the best most secure and easiest to use headphones I have had to date.
While slightly awkward, you get used to the fit after 5 seconds and you are set without having to adjust the headphones the rest of the time.
I don't use these outside the gym, and probably wouldn't recommend them unless you were using them just for the gym as well.
Customer Review: Absolutle Worst Headphones ever owned Summary: 1 Stars
Never have I owned a pair of headphones that were both poorly designed and constructed.
On the plus side, for the first day (yes day) they were ok an the sound was good. Unfortunatly they began to fall apart shortly afterwards and sound never came through well after that.
Construction:
Week 1: small rubber surrounds fell of
Week 4: large rubber surrounds, earbud grills fell of
Week 5: socket connect protector broke off exposing the wire.
Design:
- Extra little ear piece does very little to hold in your ear better, it does however make for a challenging 5 minutes to untangle them EVERY time you want to use because it keeps getting caught in the wire,
- Nice that these are so lightweight but that only makes them get tangled even easier
- distance between the left/right cord length (once the cord separates) is too much.. is made for someone with their ears 3 feet apart.
- Overall cord is too long only making them more prone to tangle
- Though green was a novelty, turns out just plain ugly
Word of advise.. steer clear. I would not even take them if they were free.
Customer Review: My personal review. Summary: 3 Stars
When I saw this, I thought "oh wow it looks cool and interesting, I'll buy it". I opened the package tried em on right away, took me some time to place it just right in my ears, once they're both in they're hard to knocked out. After of 10 mins in my ears I start finding them a bit irritating and painful I would say. So I took them out and played with the different sizes. I put on the smallest size they have and tried em on. Still irritating but the pain is gone. I think because I have such small ears that's why this is happening. And also, both the ear piece and the roller are such hard textured that is also why. I also noticed that the coil won't go away no matter how hard I tried straightening them out, it got really annoying - I figured it's designed that way so you have less wire out when you're in the gym or doing other stuff.
Pros:
Very stylish
Hard to knocked out of your ears
Have different sizes that comes with the item
Comes with a nice accessibly pouch as you can see in the photos
Designed for avid fitness goers
Cons:
Hard textured therefore they hurt after a while of using
Annoying wire coil
