Customer Review: Great sound, one minor complaint . . .
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought these for the Marine Corps Marathon last year. The clips on my other earphones caused pain behind my ears when my sunglasses pressed on them so this clipless design seemed like a good idea. Once adjusted they did stay in place but when running for 3 plus hours the pressure on my ear cartilage was a little distracting. Not painful though. The sound was a great improvement compared to the standard iPod earplugs with clearer high frequencies and a less muddled midrange. The only detracting factor was the cord. In the package the cord is wound in a circle and the coil never comes completely out. I thought maybe after a while the cord would straighten but it's been almost a year now. If you run with these, they may interfere with your natural arm swing. I always coil any excess cord around my music player on an arm band . . . thankfully the cord on these is short enough to keep it from tangling me up. I use my clip ons for short runs and use these for races and long training runs.

I really had high expectations for this and wanted it to work so bad because I was willing to spend $12 on it (the street one). I expected the vol to be low because i had read reviews, but i was willing to accept that in hopes that the fit would be right. even all the random sizing accessories couldn't make the thing fit in my ear. The bud was too fat and the top thing didn't help at all (the angle of the bend was too great it couldn't even make contact with my ear).

As far as the sound goes...sounded muffled, some bass. I normally have my mp3 play vol on 10/24 when it's quiet, but these required somewhere between 14-19/24.

I attribute the fit to my asian ears, but I much prefer my Panasonic Ear Drops (RP-HV21) which cost me $8.12 here on amazon. The fit was nearly perfect and the sound is decent (I'm not an audiophile).

Customer Review: The WORST earbuds I have ever owned
Summary: 1 Stars

Took the earbuds out of the box, fit the different rubber pads on them, tried them on, took them off, and threw them into the trash. My ears hurt for the next 20 minutes.

These are by far the worst design in earbuds possible. The "twist to fit" protrusion is so big that the designer must have had ears the size of an elephants to come up with this disaster of a design.

Further, the construction is CHEAP and plasticky, the rubber attachments only make the earbuds more and more uncomfortable. The length of the cable is quite short compared to regular earbuds. The changeable colour panels keep falling off the earbuds and the mesh covering the earpiece is very very flimsy.

The best part about the earbuds is the case in which it comes which is stylish and good quality. Too bad the earbuds dont do the case justice.

Shame on Sennheiser for producing such a piece of junk.

Customer Review: You'd be better off buying a pair of turds
Summary: 1 Stars

Sennheiser should be ashamed to sell products of this low quality. The coiled cable is a terrible design that does nothing besides make them much harder to get untangled. The earphones come with a variety of little interchangeable parts but they attach so loosely that they are ripped off and lost within a matter of days under normal use (as in, putting them into and taking them out of your pocket). First, both of the decorative plastic pieces fell off. Then the rubber discs fell off that form part of the twist-to-fit system. Then the rubber rings around the speakers themselves fell off. I threw the earphones away after I had run out of the various spare parts that Sennheiser includes with the earphones.

Moreover, the sound quality just isn't good. Not as good as the stock ipod earphones, and certainly not anywhere close to Sennheiser good.

Customer Review: decent ear buds
Summary: 3 Stars

I got these because I have some HD280s that I really like and I needed some new ear buds. I previously had some Sony ear canal buds (don't know the exact model number, they were about $40 MSRP). I hated the ear canal type because they didn't sound good unless I rammed them in my ear and they easily wiggled loose from that position. I figured these "twist to fit" ones might stay in pretty well.

Well, "twist to fit" is a joke, at least for my ears, but it doesn't really matter. They stay in my ears just fine, and they sound decent. I really like the symmetric cord, which seems to be rarer these days. Complaints are that the cord is very curly (which I don't think will go away), and that they don't work as well in the wind as what I remember from my previous (non ear canal) buds, but that may just be poor memory on my part.
