Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sennheiser EH-150 Dynamic Sound Evolution Hi-Fi Stereo HeadphonesCustomer Review: Heck yeah Summary: 5 Stars
These headphones are amazing. Possibly the best $25 I've spent in a long time. Imagine sound-blocking without the white noise of noise cancelling technology, all music being kept IN the headphones (hold them 6" away from your head and you can MAYBE hear a little bass if the music's loud enough) and the sound, for $25 headphones, being basically perfect. That's not even getting into how comfy they are. Granted, they're normal headphones that rest on the top of your head, but they're small enough to not look weird on my freakishly tiny head and comfy enough to wear for 2-3 hours, which is how long it took me to get bored of music. I like my cushy earpads. I like being able to hear the audio imaging without having to spent $100-250. I like having headphones that are capable of handling the bass in my techno music without making me go deaf. I like the ability to pick out instruments in Rhapsody in Blue. I like the fact that they're made to be portable, so they'll comfortably fit in my backpack. I love the fact that at $25, if I break them, I can replace them without crying.
If you have a head that isn't just a tiny step above kid-sized, you'll want a pair that's bigger, I'd think. For those of us who can't find a pair of glasses or sunglasses that fit without searching for weeks, get them. Just get them.
Customer Review: Sounds good, but the comfort was terrible. Summary: 2 Stars
For context, I work in a cube farm so I wanted something that would provide some silence and music at the same time. I was looking for over the ear headphones with good sound quality. Sadly when I got these, I realized the over the ear area is WAY too small for an adult ear. So instead the foam presses up against the ear lobes, which doesn't block out the sound as I had hoped. Another item to note is the angle these sit on your head. Because it had one large plastic piece and the ear pieces are locked in, it can only be adjusted in one direction, which is ear height. I am an average height, average weight male so if they are too small and tight for me, it will likely be similar for others.
Summary:
Pros:
1) Good sound quality
2) Long cord
3) Price
Cons:
1) Not adjustable on angle. (can't be moved forward or backwards as far as where the top rests on your head)
2) Not adjustable for width of head. Only "stretches" which creates tension and pressure on the ears.
3) Does a poor job of blocking out ambient.
4) Ear cups will not fit over an adult ear. Do not consider these over the ear headphones.
I hope this helps other online buyers who won't have a chance to try them on before they buy.
Customer Review: AWESOME Summary: 5 Stars
Durability: I can't tell you how many times I've dropped these headphones (on carpet/wood). The pads are attached to the bracket with a free-moving hinge...at first when I dropped them I got scared because I thought it was a fragile joint...but it still feels as strong as it was when I first got it.
Sound: I may be imagining it, but I believe it got better with time. (Maybe they have a break-in period?) Stunning sound at this price-point. I hope to get open-air audiophile quality headphones one day, but I'm glad I'll have these for closed-ear purposes. I do not have super-critical expectations with sound, but these headphones have a surprisingly full sound and put all other sub-$50 headphones that I have heard to shame. Even the stereo separation is quite good. I did not notice this until recently...but it's added a whole different dimension to music. Sound isolation is quite good (leaking out AND in).
Design: I don't personally care...They're pretty bulky. Looks pretty goofy on me cuz I have a small head. I wear glasses...it used to hurt behind my ear after an hour of use. When I got different glasses the pain went away. I think if your glasses have a curve on the end of the part behind your ear...then these headphones will hurt.
Customer Review: Nice sound but terribly uncomfortable for people with bigger ears and heads Summary: 3 Stars
First off with the postives on this headset. I trust the brand completely and have had many sets of sennheisers all my life and their sound quality is hard to beat for the price usually. The sound quality on these is nice, very clean bass and highs but the mids are a little muddy. The bass these do have is clean accurate bass so dont expect tons of loud ear rattling bass from them. They are built nicely minus the ear cushions which I will get to later. The cord is thick and of high quality which is expected from this brand. They are small, lighweight headphones and sound good if you can get them cheap. My personal advice would be to get the newer model of these. Now onto my gripes.
These things are horribly uncomfortable if you have a bigger head and bigger ears! I cant use them for more then an hour without my ears starting to ache. This is where sennheiser really made mistakes and thats usually not like them to skimp on quality. The actual earpieces are small and dont cover my ears and the ear cushions are uncomfortable as well adding to ear pain and fatigue. Its ashame cause they are light and sound good but I just couldnt keep them. So if you got bigger ears and a bigger head move on to something with better cushion and bigger ear parts.
Customer Review: Not that good Summary: 1 Stars
I have a 1 dollar pair of ear muffs sure they fell apart (the foam fell off) but they sounded better than these and I got them refurbished for 6 bucks with that said with all the unfurbished reviews these still have gotten bad reviews I wish I had listened the only thing I like is they are cushioned so it isn't as bad as I thought it would be I thought it would be like a hammer going through my head but it's okay..the bass is out of tune and the treble is almost unoticable I plan on buying these kind next http://www.amazon.com/Behrhinger-High-Definition-DJ-Headphones-HPX2000/dp/B0002Z82XK/ref=sr_1_54?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1247077495&sr=1-54
I am being dreadfully honest in saying don't buy these headphones if your looking for crisp quality there is also a noise when you turn it up all the way like tinnitus (ringing in the ear) believe me since I do actually have tinnitus it's dreadful for any one else to hear this going in and out ..I'm sure even if it weren't refurbished it would sound just as dreadful.
I will give a review once I spot the headphones to buy for the link I posted if you want keep a look out ps I have very good hearing so I hope my review counts :)
