Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of 6 in 1 Car Kit for Ipod (Black) Car Charger / Fm Transmitter / Holder Full Range Frequency / USB port / Remote Control for iPod, Touch 1G/2GCustomer Review: Does everything right. But material a bit subpar and may not fit all cars Summary: 4 Stars
I love this product overall. But can only give 4 stars because of some minor issues.
PROS:
- Instant FM transmission upon turning ON
- Very strong signal that sounds great but the highs (treble sounds) are bit dampened
- full function remote that lets you navigate the menus, fast-forward, rewind, skip, shuffle songs, etc.
- lets you charge cell phone or other device via the USB port
- Holds your iPod in place nicely
- Has ability to connect to audio sources other than iPod - although without remote functionality
CONS:
- May not fit outlets that are recessed - doesn't fit my wife's car - an extension arm would have taken care of it
- The plug is held together with a tiny screw and nut that can come lose easily. However, if you leave it plugged in all the time, you should be OK. You can remove your iPod from the unit while it's plugged in.
- The remote died after just a few weeks of use. I'm assuming the remote came with a bad battery. I will post my experiences (if notable) after replacing the battery.
BOTTOMLINE:
I have used a few other FM transmitters and this BY FAR has the best performance and features. The PROs greatly outweigh the CONs. I would say if it fits your car and you leave it plugged in all the time or are careful with the screw assembly, this is a must buy. Enjoy and keep your eyes on the road while driving.
Customer Review: Really Good!! Summary: 5 Stars
Well....
This is the first FM transmitter I've purchased. Did lot of research online studying different reviews about different products.
I guess this was one of the few products which had a better overall review rating and the product did live up to the expectations.
Pros:
It delivered very good sound quality and the signal strength was also excellent.
Tested it on a frequency with already a station transmitting over and did not find any big interference problems as such.
I usually drive about 20 miles to work oneway in the morning and with traffic my journey is about 30-40min. I do not experience any static or hiss.
The customer service is simply superb! Had some issues with the remote and they sent a replacement right away when contacted. No questions asked.
Cons:
The body is made of subpar plastic material which makes the whole unit look a bit shoddy. If you are one among those who care for the sound quality rather than physical appearance then I guess you can live with it.
Had minor problems of static on couple of occasions especially on rainy days.
Suggestions: Would suggest to have the EQ set to FLAT on the Ipod as there is a problem transmitting high trebble sounds. They usually end up creating unpleasant noise.
All in all a good buy.
Customer Review: Great Quality, Impressive Customer Service Summary: 5 Stars
The Satechi player was incredibly easy to use. I just plugged it into my car's lighter, turned it on, set my car radio to the radio frequency set on the Satechi Player, and voila, I was listening to music on my ipod through my car's radio. The sound quality was phenomenal, and was in fact better than the quality of radio stations and seemed even slightly better than my CD player's sound quality.
More impressive than this was the fact that shortly after I received the package, Satechi sent me a personalized email making sure that I received the package, and asking me about my satisfaction with the product. Their customer service truly ranks with the best I've ever dealt with. The price is also incredibly reasonable given the quality of the device. The remote control worked great as well, though I probably will have little use for it when I'm driving. It seems like it was intended to be used mostly by passengers or when you're standing outside of your car listening to your ipod. Though I'm definitely not complaining about it, since it's a very neat addition to the player. There are still other functions I haven't yet tried out (like plugging a PDA/cell phone to it, among others), and I feel that this device still has some more great features to show off.
A definite buy for anyone looking for an iPod adapter for their car.
Customer Review: A Great item and an IPOD must have Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the 3 in 1 car kit because I was taking a long drive from NC to MA and wanted to listen to my IPOD Nano on the drive. After reading all the reviews for all the other like products I chose this one. It was a great choice; it plugged-in easily and worked great. Even though I drove through numerous radio station zones it continued to play with little or no bleed over, as a matter of fact if I wanted to listen to any actual radio stations I had to turn-off the IPOD because it would over power other stations. I only had to change the channel a couple of times because of interference, but not much. I was also happy to note that it held my IPOD Nano tightly and didn't drop it once.
Some things to be aware of: if you have a car plug in that is not very accessible than you might not want this product, the angle of the holder moves, but the plug-in itself does not adjust, I own an Xterra and if the arm on the 3 in 1 was any shorter I couldn't have used it (the one thing they could really change - adjustable length plug-in portion). Also, the remote is a must and works well, but it's easier to lose than the Nano itself (I bought one of those catch all pockets that hooks in to the vent in order to hold it).
All-in-all though I am very happy with this product and for the price it is great, I highly recommend it.

Customer Review: Not bad at all! Summary: 4 Stars
Bad News:
i agree that the attachment mechanism is bulky, inflexible, and awkward. we have a 2002 chevy cav (4door) and cannot use the power port closest to drivers side. so playlist have to be set up before driving and the remote is needed. other than that we've had no problems with it. i may look into a power port extension cable but then mounting this converter may be difficult (since the original power port connector is it's mounting system to your car.) the attachment is a little snug in our 03 dodge stratus but not to the point where we can't use it.
Good News:
a great price
it's nice that it does multiple things (charges ipod, plays ipod, holds ipod, gives remote capabilities, etc)
the signal is strong and stable (we live in indianapolis so we might have more luck with that feature than others)
clear audio production
the minor inconvenience is the only reason for the four out of five stars :) my wife says it's very easy to use and loved her Christmas gift! she got the ipod gen 4 nano last year and had to wait til this year to get the accessories lol.
This is our first transmitter, but i studied and thought this was the most liked for the price i wanted to spend. So far it's lived up to my expectations. if this changes i will update.
