Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sanus VMPL50B VisionMount Tilting Mount For 30"- 56" Displays - BlackCustomer Review: Very simple and heavy duty. Summary: 5 Stars
We just bought a new plasma TV and wanted to wall mount it. I went directly to Amazon to read the reviews of all the different mounts and liked this one. It was half the price of the one at Best Buy, and was no tax & free shipping so I ordered it. It is really heavy duty and very simple to figure out. They give you a big bag of different screws, spacers and bolts in an attempt to cover all mounting situations, and all TVs. The most time consuming part of the installation was finding the studs in the wall. (Why can't someone invent a decent stud finder?) After you locate the studs in the wall the rest is easy. Just mark your spots and after you put the first wall screw in make sure you level it, then install the rest of the wall screws. If you pay someone $150 to install this thing, you are a complete weenie. After that you just screw the other part to the back of the tv, then lift it up and hook it on the wall mount. (This step takes 2 guys.)It also has an adjustment so you can angle the TV up or down a few degrees. That's about it,simple and sturdy.
Customer Review: a must for entertainment room Summary: 5 Stars
Once I overcame my fear of not locating the center of the stud, I did use the B&D Bulitt stud sensor, the mounting of my 55 inch flat panel TV was child's play. What was extremely helpful were the negative reviews of other products offerred by amazon including one which encouraged readers to purchase the Sanus model. same product was offerred at local electronics retailer for more than 3x what I paid. I received the merchandise within 3 days of my order in perfect condition including the outside packaging. Only negative was that the instructions were not clear as to which of the arm mounting assemblies should have been used for my TV but I was able to figure that out. Also when I went on their site to match my TV to Sanus's models, I could not get a match for the unit I had purchased but Amazon's description that the unit would hol TV up to 56in and 135 lbs was accurate. You cannot beat the quality of this product for the price and to try to, after spending the money you already have on the TV is just foolhardy.
Customer Review: Super Simple Installation Summary: 5 Stars
I have a huge and heavy Panasonic 42" Plasma.
The Sanus Mount installed in seconds onto the back of the TV. Every bolt I needed was included in the kit and all the holes lined up perfectly. The supply of bolts and washers seemed pretty generous to me.
The mount for the wall is very well made. I found two studs using an electronic studfinder. I drilled pilot holes according to the instructions. This was very easy.
The TV was too heavy for me to install by myself. It took two men to hang the TV. It is probably because I mounted the wall mount too high. There is a small hole on the bottom of each "hook". I want to buy a small padlock to use to secure the mount. An average padlock is too big. I havent installed a padlock yet but it appears that it would prevent anyone from inserting an allen wrench to back out the retaining screw.
I like the Sanus mount and Amazon so much that I am ording another Sanus mount for a smaller TV/Monitor that I have.
Customer Review: Great results for reasonable price Summary: 5 Stars
This mount was reasonably priced. I looked at a number of more expensive mounts as well as some of the really inexpensive ones. I stayed away from the really inexpensive ones for two reasons: 1) its holding my new 46" Panasonic G10. I figured saving $50 on the mount wouldn't make much sense if something went wrong with the cheap mount. 2) after reading a bunch of reviews, I wanted to be able to adjust the tilt easily with the TV on the wall.
The Sanus comes with a wide variety of hardware, I had no problem finding the right screws for my TV. Since this is a universal mount, there is some play in where you can mount the brackets on the back of the TV. This came in handy with my install since I needed to work around an existing outlet. The tension on the tilt is adjustable.
No problem with the install, took me about an hour. Lifting the TV onto the mount is definitely a two person job. More details on my install on here on my blog at joemorrissey[dot]wordpress[dot]com.
Customer Review: Solid Mount includes Hardware Summary: 5 Stars
This Sanus VMPL50B mount is heavy gauge steel and appears well made. Rated for 130lbs it should hold most LCD TVs including most 52-inch models.
Easy to install the mount on the wall and hangers on the back of your TV (one man job). You must have two people to hang your TV or you are risking disaster. Holds the TV about 2.5-inches off the wall. So if your TV is 5.5-inches deep (most units), this mount will result in the front of the TV about 8-inches off the wall. Tilt is plus/minus 12-degrees (plenty for most applications).
The kit includes great instructions a lots of hardware (bolts, etc) for almost every type/size of TV.
Hung my Olevia (Syntax) 37-inch LCD TV in about 1 hour (going slowly). Only words of wisdom are to thread/start the retaining (safety) bolts before you hang the TV. It is hard to reach behind a mounted TV and tighten the bolts using the allen wrench (included). Also hookup your cables to the TV before you hang it for the same reason.
