Just got the radio a couple of hours ago. I had a Sony ICF-M410V that went south on me. From the minute I turned the PR-D7 on I loved it. Very good speaker. I used rechargeable batteries in the Sony but had to recharge them often. While the Sony had a port for a 4.5 volt adapter, it was proprietary (I hate that, don't you). I tried multiple plugs and none would work. The PR-D7 comes with an ac adapter that not only powers the radio it also will recharge the batteries when the radio is off. Cool.

Just received this radio for use in the bathroom on a vanity. Hated the old corded radio. My husband is very picky and he loves it. The feature he likes the most is the easy volume knob on the side. I am actually considering buying another one for my own use. The rechargeable batteries charging inside the radio is a great idea. I also bought the charger with the 4 batteries. It is really nice looking, plays great(good speaker) and is nice and compact but not too small. So glad I found this one when I was just looking around on Amazon for a good radio. Ordered on a Friday and had it on Tuesday. Thanks Amazon, again a great shopping experience.Customer Review: A little Concerned

The radio is well worth the price, you have to buy the battery pac seperate. The only thing is, the radio takes "6" batteries. The battery pack only comes with "4" rechargable batteries, so you have to buy an extra battery pack for $18.00 so you can get the extra "2" batteries and the charger. The charger will only charges 4 batteries at a time so what good is 4 batteries when the radio takes 6? No where in the radio detail did it tell you that information. We had to invest another $40.00 to buy an adapter that plugs into the cigarette lighter for the radio to work when you don't have use of electricity. My new Sangean is a little jewel of a radio, just the size that suits me with all the features I want and everything at my fingertips. It is surprisingly powerful for a smaller radio. I keep it by my bed. It is the favorite radio I've ever owned, and believe me there have been many! I live a long way from anywhere, and it pulls in stations that all my bigger radios can't touch. I plan to keep it for many years. Oh, yes, and I love the rechargeable battery feature. I love this radio. The ability to preset 15 stations is great for me. It also has very good reception of low powered stations. I can receive a favorite station that I cannot get on other portables , my auto radio and even my big, high powered hifi tuner.
It's only drawback is that it has no carrying handle. BB
After 2 months of using this neat radio I wanted to add to my review. It still works great and is super easy to use. I forgot to mention that it comes with a charger for rechargeable batteries so there is no need to purchase a separate charger. The rechargeable batteries are not included with the radio. BB
