I bought this radio just a month ago. So it hasn't been with me long enough to tell about durability and reliability.
I am well impressed by the ease of use. The large buttons, and the small number of them makes the interface simple.
The initial setup is trivial and easy to complete in a few minutes. The display is big and clear. If you wear glasses and you are in the shower, where you don't wear them, the font size is big enough to see without glasses by many of us.
I am well impressed by the build of the product. The finish is very good. The build materials are very good. Better than what I expected initially.
The handle, which rotates to open up or to close is pretty nice.
The only issue, which wasn't clear to me when I bought it, is that it uses D size batteries rather than the much more common AA. I used a D enclosure for AA rechargable batteries and it is working well. But I am not sure these AA batteries will last long and I will have to recharge them to soon. Not enough experience yet with this aspect.
Radio reception is very good. And the sound quality is good. Although I would have liked to have controls over the trebble and bass.
Another issue is the FM Tuning frequency step, it is suitable only for the US. If you plan to use this radio outside the US, then you should know the frequency step of 100 KHz is not enough.
Last but not least the price is pretty high for this radio.
Overall I am happy with this purchase and would be even happier if the price would have been lower.

I use this radio while canoe camping, and it's performed well and has some nice features. The rotating handle feature is great for easily securing it to the thwart of the boat or a tree limb, and it's waterproof enough to leave out in the rain. It uses D cell batteries, and they last forever. I'd guess the current set has 40 hours of medium level play on them, a couple hours of light use, and they're still showing 3 bars on the battery level indicator. It is not a hi-fi radio by any means but sound quality is better than most radios with a similar sized speaker, and it's plenty powerful enough for a small campsite. The built in LED light is a nice feature. It's not super bright nor focused, so doesn't reach out very far, but it comes in handy and will run a long time given the D cell batteries. Reception even with the antenna extended is "ok". My car radio picks up far more channels. The big LCD and orange backlight operation is cool as it shuts down after a while, but can be reactivated by touching any button. This conserves battery life and keeps the tent dark at night, but also makes it easy to reach over and tap a button to see what time it is if needed. Too heavy (IMO) for backpack camping of any distance. Gave it 4 stars only because it doesn't have an alarm (but does have a timer and clock). Weather band would be a useful feature, as would an input jack for an mP3 player.Customer Review: Amazing Product

What a great product !!
My wife and I have been thinking of getting a shower radio for sometime but on the street (shopping) I never came across that I was really satisfied with. I always value the experience of fellow Amazon reviewers and picked this product up without any hesitation after having gone through the comments. Thank you.
First and most important is the reception. We are in a difficult spot where for example I was only able to solve the radio reception problem of my hi-fi radio set by installing a Terk FM-50 Indoor/Outdoor Dual-Drive Amplified FM Antenna (Terk FM50), which is another great product by the way. Tried few places in our shower, picked a location that was good for use and also for reception. Without taking out the wire antenna was able to receive only few stations but after having taken out the wire antenna, dramatic improvement and now receiving all in good quality.
Sound is very good and so is the ease of use. We are so delighted with this radio and using it always as we step in the shower. As one reviewer rightly commented so, better get this product while it is available. I am so happy about this product that I am thinking whether I should install few more in other showers in the house :)
Get one, you will enjoy it.

Over the years I've become addicted to shower radios--I must have something to drown out my poor attempt at singing. However, I have found that I end up having to replace the shower radio much more often than I'd like to. Not anymore! After spending a small fortune on cheap shower radios over the years, I decided I wasn't going to make a purchase until I found what I truly wanted. This radio is it! It runs on D batteries (or AC--not recommended in the shower) that last forever. The reception is incredible--and the best part is that it's DIGITAL. No more hunting for what you think the station is. But wait, there's more. The presets have ended the feud in my household between my daughter and me. She would always change the station to her favorite--and I would end up having to hunt for mine with the poor analog tuners of the cheapie shower radios. Now we have more than enough presets pretuned that are available at the touch of a button. I only have two complaints with this radio. First, it cam be mounted in the shower and easily removed to be used as a portable. And 2nd, the quality is incredible. Well, those don't sound like complaints, until you have a teenager who keeps taking it off the wall and taking it to the beach! The Sangean H201 AM/FM Digital Shower Radio, is very nicely design product. The radio functions extremely well, with good sound and great reception. The added built in features, turn this simple product into a "no-brainer." The cost, was the one hurdle for me, but having seen so many poor reviews for cheaper products, I decided to give the Sangean a shot.
The Pros:
-Good sound (not booming stereo quality, but plenty good for a shower)
-Great reception
-Fantastic Battery life (have yet to see the built in battery status drop a single bit)
-Plenty of hanging/mounting options (should suit just about any application)
-Built in flashlight (not a huge deal, but a nice added touch)
-Solid construction (I submerged it, it floats, it didn't skip a beat)
The cons:
The only con I have found thus far, is that it only allows for 5 pre-sets per band. So I can only have 5 FM pre-sets, which is fine but I would be happier with 10.
All in all, this is just a fantastic product, a bit pricey but I have no doubt that it is built to last.
If you are looking for a shower radio or just a water-proof radio for boating or poolside, you cannot go wrong with the Sangean H201 AM/FM Digital Shower Radio.
