Received this radio on Mon., 2/1. Have played it about 3 hrs per day for 4 days on both FM & AM bands. Overall I am very impressed with the radio's signal strength and the sound quality. I was able to receive signals from NC, Conn, and Chicago in the AM band during the evening and night hours from South Jersey. The FM local radio stations come in loud & clear with good stereo separation. The controls are easy to understand. It has features you wouldn't expect to find on such a small radio. It weighs approximately 2 oz. and can fit into the palm of a small hand. You can store 5AM and 10 FM stations. (FM1 and FM 2 bands). It has an automatic off feature that shuts off the radio after 90 minutes. You can over ride this feature by holding in the on button for several seconds until the clock ICON disappears in the LCD display. It has a DBB, base boost for added base, a battery signal strength meter, and continuous station display. When you press the volume up or down buttons, a digital readout of the volume level is displayed in the LCD. It has earbuds and a 2ft long cord which serves as the FM antenna. I would prefer headphones, but this is not possible due to its small size. The radio fits very easily into a shirt pocket. For best FM reception, I recommend that you let the earbud cord hang all the way out, & not fold it up in a pocket. This radio has PLL tuning, which stands for Phase Lock Linear. This tuning is found on much more expensive radios. Example, my Sangean World Band radio (shortwave) has PLL, & it costs almost $200 when new. This is what accounts for its sound quality and signal sensitivity. Several reviews commented on its excellent battery life. After more than 12 hours, the meter shows a full strength battery.
I am a very particular person when it comes to sound quality, & for the money I think this is a very good value. The only negative that some may have is the earbuds which tend not to be too comfortable if not placed exactly right into the ear for some people. Other than that, you should be very pleased with this radio.
