Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sangean HDT-1X HD Radio Component TunerCustomer Review: Good HD Tuner Summary: 4 Stars
Sangean Component HD Radio Tuner performed well. We are 40 miles from NYC and Phila and get both areas with the tuner and an attic antena. One station on the HD2 side seem to modulate in strength and lose signal which is anoying it doesn't happen on the standard FM side. Tuner performed as advertised and the HD2 stations are greate bonuses. Especially the All slow jams 24 hours on WDAS from Phila.
Customer Review: Very happy with the Sangean tuner. Summary: 5 Stars
My 30+ year old Yamaha Tuner (then expensive) was on it last legs and I took it to a repair shop and for a small fee they told me that they would assess the work to be done and quote me an estimate. I went to the net and discovered and bought the Sangean HDT-1X. The quality of sound is excellent and I receive many many more stations than I could when my Yamaha tuner was up and running.
Customer Review: Probably a great product if you live in/near a metropolitan area. Summary: 1 Stars
We bought this product specifically to enable us to listen to an HD radio station transmitting from St. Louis. But, since we live in rural Missouri about 60 miles away, we could not get the station on this receiver. Evidently, you have to live very close to the transmission point to receive HD stations, since they are much less powerful than most regular non-HD stations.
Customer Review: HD Radio is great Summary: 5 Stars
Picked up this unit after looking at the Sony. The Good: Better FM reception then my current receiver (much less background noise), HD radio works very well and is dead quiet in the background. The Bad: So far I haven't got a bad thing to say about this unit.
Overall: I am very happy with this and enjoy HD Radio

I bought this unit when I could get it for $ 100.00, I paid to get the X version ($ 125.00)with optical cable.
I just bought another one and had to pay $ 200.00.This thing needs a good antenna, I currently use it with supplied
antenna tacked to the ceiling of my basement.
