This card reader cut the download time for my CF cards in half. With an 8 gig card that was taking more than a half hour to download with my old card reader, that is a major saver of my time. I'm probably going to buy at least one more so I can have one in my laptop bag and another on the studio computer. Great product that does what it claims. If all you needed was a simple CF card reader, this is the one to get.
It's sleek, small, and stylish.
It's not as fast as today's UDMA readers, so don't get it for that purpose.
If you just want something cheap to make some quick transfers, this is the one card to get (if it's still around for super cheap).
As a bonus, it also has an extra slot to read/write SD (Secure Digital) and MS (Memory Stick) cards.

This reader works great for what I use it for, which is to read Compact Flash media. When you plug it into your PC (I have XP), it recognizes it right away, but installed 4 different devices from it. This is due to the fact that it reads more formats than just CF. Additionally, there is a little blue light that comes on when you have correctly inserted the card, for a nice visual queue.

I use this to transfer images from trial cameras to a laptop computer. This allows us to simply remove the storage card and we can see the images right in the woods.
Later we use the reader to transfer the images to our home computer. No problems encountered at all and the transfer is really quick. One card had over 500 images and the download was much quicker than I expected.

Quality item, very well make. I am a Mac user, and this card reader works fine for OS9, OSX 10.3 and 10.4. And it is fast using USB 2.0 (USB 1.1 for OS9), faster than the Lexar firewire CF card readers I have. The cards fit into this reader very easily, many card readers have a very bad fit, but this one has a great fit for all card types. It is so good I am going to buy a second one.
