Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sandisk 8GB Cruzer Titanium USB 2.0 Flash Drive (SDCZ7-8192-A11, Retail Package)

Customer Review: Cruisin' with the Cruzer Titanium!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this little flash drive as a space-saving alternative to my bulky portable WD 250GB external hard drive. Although that drive is awesome and fast and has a ton of space, for some situations it just wasn't feasible to carry with me all the time and way too noticeable. When I got the Cruzer, I didn't think the throughput would be that fast because of the space limitation and it being only USB 2.0. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! This little guy is very fast and I've got a lot of personal info on there I use on a daily basis and still have about 4.6GB left! I highly recommend it for anyone needing a little storage for personal data used on a constant daily basis and to transfer files temporarily from one computer to another. It's solid, fast and for the amount of storage space, very cheap.

Customer Review: Awesome!
Summary: 5 Stars

I actually got this 8GB Cruzer titanium to replace the 16 GB Cruzer titanium I recently purchased. While the 16 GB was slow, horribly slow, this 8GB USB is marvelous! It's fast, reliable, and there is plenty of space. I use the U3, mainly to run Firefox and it just zooms, even with lots of add-ons. Saving files is fast as well. The LED is blue, which is nice and soothing and the casing is exactly the same as the 4GB Cruzer titanium (which I also have and absolutely love). There is no cap to lose and the retractable mechanism is smooth. On top of it all, it's really small and easy to carry. It did not come with a strap, but I attached a small clamp and can easily and safely attach it to my clothes and not even notice it. It's a great product, fast, solid, easy to use, well worth the money!

Customer Review: Not What I Expected
Summary: 2 Stars

I was looking to consolidate all my different flash drives into one so that I didn't have to keep all the different ones that I had. I bought the 2G version at Walmart. I was at first very pumped at the idea of not losing the cap since I am absent-minded and do good to remember the flash drive itself. On my first attempt to use this I had trouble getting it into the USB port. The thing kept retracting into its sleeve when I pushed it in. The only way that I knew it was in was the light. I still wasn't sure it was all the way in. I traded one of my friends for a 4G Imation with a flip cap. Much easier to put in the port and I know that I won't lose the cap because it is attached to the flash drive. I recommend the Imation instead of this one.

Customer Review: Disregard the "sour grapes" reviews.
Summary: 5 Stars

Whether this flash drive is plugged directly into my (Dell) computer or my monitor, whatever light comes on is not visible. Even if it were, would I care? No. Want to see a "cheap" plastic case, check out the Kingston Data Traveler (which I recently purchased). This SanDisk Ultra Cruzer Titanium flash drive is clearly a superior product. You have the option of not installing any extra programs that are offered. The speed of the 2.0 drive is impressive compared to older drives that I have, and the metal case is solid. Anyone who says otherwise undermines whatever little credibility they might have had based on their objection to an amber light. You may buy this item with confidence. You will be happy.

Customer Review: Excellent product but pricey
Summary: 4 Stars

The Cruzer Titanium is an excellent product but expensive given the number of GB's you get. It is extremely well built and has a much better operational feel than the USB flash drives that I own which have a plastic body.

Since I use a Mac the software that was included really had no value. I deleted all of it.

If you carry this on your key ring or just throw it into your computer bag, then the additional ruggedness of the Titianium flash drive is worth the money. But if you just keep it in a drawer, is it really worth the additional money just to get a flash drive that feels more solid?? If the flash drive has a nice cozy life in a drawer, the plastic body will be rugged enough.
