Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDiskŪ microSDHCTM 8GB Memory Card

Customer Review: Another great SanDisc product
Summary: 5 Stars

These microSDHC cards are a great product. They format easily and load data well. The data acess by devices has been smooth and error-free. I have tried some other brands of microSD cards and had trouble weith errors and, particularly with the adapters to convert to an sd format for data transfer. I have not experienced a single error or manufacturing deficiency with the SanDisc name brand memory. I use them in phones for music player, data and photo storage. I also use them in digital cameras. The app where they really stand out for quality, though, has been in my Sanza music player.SanDisk Sansa Fuze 4 GB Video MP3 Player (Black) Absolutely flawless and error free playback, even when loaded to capacity. I particularly like the hassle free loading of music files from my computer. Just insert the card into the player and format it, then put the card in the adapter and load it directly from a memory slot on the computer. Most of the other devices require loading through a proprietary USB cable which REALLY slows the process down. I keep and entire music collection sorted by genres on different microSD cards for my player.

Customer Review: WYSIWYG-NO ADAPTER, microSD card only, UNPACKAGED
Summary: 2 Stars

Perhaps I'm gullible and always a sucker for a low price and free shipping for a product that claims to be new.
BUT. This shipped quickly and in a nice padded envelope from Blue Proton.

When I opened the package, I was suprised to see what still looks to me like a used card. It's just the microSD card rattling around in the usual little plastic box. Rattling because this ships sans adapter (which I had stupidly assumed comes standard with any microSD) so there's plenty of extra room in the tiny box.

So while the product description says "bulk packaging" this actually means NO packaging--as in ZERO. So, I'm skeptical that this is sandisk memory, but as long as it works I guess I have no complaint, I just feel like the product description and title pulled the wool over my eyes a bit.

I suggest anyone receiving a product like this obviously format the disk before using it.

I noticed that when I popped the microSD into my own adapter and reader, used space was 1.4 MB. After formatting used space was 468 kb. I'm not a tech person and am probably unnecessarily paranoid, but I found that odd.

Buy & use at your own risk.

Customer Review: very slow
Summary: 1 Stars

Ok, so I'm not a particularly tech savvy type of person. I have read reviews about "class 2" and "class 4" but I am here to write my own review using normal English (hah!). I guess I'm fairly ignorant because previous to this, I had no idea there were different speeds or classes or whatever.

I purchased this for my camera, happy to upgrade, only to find out that now my camera takes ages to turn on, take photos, recover from taking photos, and enter/exit browse mode. It also now shuts off randomly, or goes into sleep mode, and takes forever to "wake up", which COMPLETELY ruins any quick candids I may attempt. If it wasn't so important for me to have extra space, this would be awful (in fact it still is awful, but I need those 8gigs!)

I infact bought two of them - one for my camera and one for my boyfriend's phone, but it turns out he doesn't want it, so I planned on using it for my Nintendo DS... well, considering how SLOW it is, I don't think that would be a good idea now.

Returning them was not a financially wise decision, so I will keep both of them... and cry every time I wait for my camera to turn on.

Customer Review: Good Product, Good Service
Summary: 5 Stars

I originally ordered this item to use for my LG Neon cell phone. Unfortunately, I found out after this product arrived in the mail that my LG Neon doesn't accept MicroSD cards over 4GB. Nevertheless, the fact that my cell phone fails is irrelevant to this actual MicroSDHC card.

Fortunately, the good thing is that this MicroSD card can be inserted into a standard-sized SanDisk adapter that comes packaged with the product. I am currently using this MicroSD card as a regular SD card in my digital camera and it's working well.

When I ordered this product from MLC Distribution, Inc., I received it in the mail in a timely manner. It was securely and safely packaged, and it came with a letter ensuring that if there were any problems, I can call MLC Distribution, Inc. to work out any issues.

Not long later, I received an e-mail from MLC Distribution, Inc. asking again if I was satisfied with my product. It is evident from these forms of contact that MLC Distribution truly cares about the products they serve.

Overall, I would rate my experience purchasing and receiving this product as excellent.

Customer Review: Great value for the money
Summary: 5 Stars

8 Gigabytes of flash in a package as small as your little finger's nail? And so inexpensive? Amazing.

It works fine in my Sprint Mogul (HTC PPC-6800). Good read/write speeds when I tested it on my computer.

Having 8 Gigabytes on my cell phone is utterly blow away. Install this card, buy a couple of extra batteries and the next time you're stuck at an airport, strain your eyes watching movies on your cell phone! Or listen to a lot of music or audio books.

Be careful when purchasing. Some SKUs include only the card. Others have SD adapters included. If you don't already have a microSD to SD adapter, make sure you get one. Also remember that most older laptops will not recognize flash drives of more than 2 GB, so you may need yet another adapter to handle these microSDHC cards.

Finally, make sure the device you plan on installing this microSDHC card in can handle it. Lots of cell phones and music players thast accept microSD cards will not properly use a microSDHC card.

Now I want a 16GB microSDHC at a reasonable price.
