Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk Ultra 16 GB Class 4 SDHC Flash Memory Card SDSDRH-016G-A11Customer Review: Loads of space, but there might be a problem..... Summary: 2 Stars
I have been using this card in my Canon Powershot SD790IS. I have a card reader in my computer and have been taking the card out of the camera and reading it directly, not using the download cable. After about 1 1/2 months, I have had a problem with the camera saying the card is locked. I take the card out and make sure it is NOT locked and insert it again. The camera will now write to the card. This is annoying and I hope it is NOT a defect in the card. We shall see with time, but I plan on using the download cable and not removing the card from the camera. From a price and space standpoint it was really good. If anyone else has this problem, just chime in. I will follow up later to let everyone know if this problem is still occuring.
Customer Review: Fast card - with the reliability of sandisk Summary: 5 Stars
I have one of these, and despite canon's claim you need "at least a class 6" in their t1i, I've found this class 4 is plenty fast enough to handle what my camera can throw at it. Yes - sandisk is a bit more expensive, but I'm not going to take away a star for that. Their reliability is worth the extra price. Ive had two cards from other companies go bad, but my sandisk cards take it and come back for more. I have a 4gb, 8gb and 16 (bought over years as price comes down - and Im not one for putting ALL my eggs in one basket). Whether its music, movies, or digital pictures, i trust sandisk when I need flash storage. Their little flash reader is great, too. I keep one in my camera bag with the card instead of the bulky cable.
Customer Review: SDHC Memory Card for cameras, pdas, storage and transfer Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this memory card for use in an hp ipaq 211 pda. It provides a huge amount of file storage for videos, music, photos and documents. I also purchased this card because the fast write transfer rate that it achieves. Some of my large file transfers that use to take more than 30 minutes now complete in minutes. I also like the small size of the SD card. It takes up little room in a bank safety deposit box. I have always been very happy with the performance and reliability of SanDisk Ultra II memory cards. I also suggest purchasing a USB 2.0 memory card reader/writer to take advantage of the fastest read and write speeds when transferring files with your desktop or laptop computers.
Customer Review: brand matters, and this is a good one Summary: 5 Stars
There's more to an SDHC card than capacity and speed. Brand does matter, and this is a good one. Read the bad reviews of some of the other brands' SDHC cards and you'll see that a certain percentage of customers report that their card simply stopped working after one or a few uses. SanDisk is not the only good brand; I've had only good experiences with my Kingston 4GB class 4 SDHC card. I had two off-brand 32GB class 6 cards that both failed on about their second use, so I read the reviews and chose this SanDisk 16GB class 4 (still fast enough for the highest bitrate setting on my Canon HF200). At the rist of beating a dead horse, it works perfectly after several uses.
Customer Review: 15MB/sec is misleading advertising Summary: 2 Stars
The marketing-speak says "featuring fast up to 15MB/s Read/Write speeds", but look closely at the picture of the card and notice the number "4" in a "C" shape. That symbol means this card is rated "Class 4", meaning, by the "SD Association" testing standard only 4MB/s is guaranteed. This card has an inflated price to match the misleading marketing. I suggest you buy a cheaper Class 4 card, or a Class 6 or higher card. Consider instead buying Transcend 16 GB SDHC SD Class 6 Flash Memory Card TS16GSDHC6E [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging]
