Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk Silicone Case for Sansa e200 (Gray)

Customer Review: This Case Needs Improvement
Summary: 2 Stars

I am very disappointed with this case. It does allow me to wear it when I am at the gym or otherwise out and about, but I'll probably replace it when I see something I like better. First of all, mine does not look like the one in the photo. There is not an area cut out where the on/off/menu button is. There is also no cut out in the area of the record button. The circular opening cut out for the thumbwheel covers up the bottoms and comes up tight to the ring, making it harder to turn as the case is flush to the outside of the wheel, and the thumbwheel is now only raised from the inside of the wheel. I have small hands, and even I find using the thumbwheel is now much more difficult. The case does have symbols on the buttons around the thumbwheel, so it is still easy to find these, however there are no symbols on the record button or the on/off button. The cut out at the top of the case is a little too small. It is designed to be open for your earphone, lock button and mic. However, if the case makes a tiny shift in position, the mic is covered up, so you have to give this a quick look before doing a voice recording. The case I had with my previous MP3 play had a clear plastic over the screen to protect it from scratches, this case is just a cut out, and although I am very careful with my Sansa, I have only had it for a month and there are already some minor scratches on it. I haven't tried the clip as I generally use an armband, but the clip seems to be really flimsy. I would not recommend this case

Customer Review: Great for the right kind of user.
Summary: 4 Stars

I wanted something that wouldn't "bulk up" my sansa too much (I like it's small size), but I am prone to dropping things so I wanted a little more protection for it.

I have dropped it a few times and it's faired much better than my son's (who didn't want to have a cover).

Sure it is good at attracting every bit of lint/hair etc., but it also gives a little more grip in the hand and on other surfaces (i.e. my car dashboard/treadmill).

The buttons are a little harder to press, but you are buying this to protect your sansa (buttons and all). An in truth when you get used to it there's no problem.

The only real negatives (from my point of view) is that it does make it bulker than I wanted, although only a little and it's not too bad. Also there's no cut out for the microSD card slot , but since I'm not using one currently, it's not a problem, and when I do...a little adjustment with a knife or scissors will fix that!

Customer Review: Don't Waste Your Money
Summary: 1 Stars

Pros
* Fits like a glove (goes without saying)
* Um... Peace of mind?

Cons
* This case makes pushing the buttons harder than it already is.
* There is nothing to protect the screen.
* If you're left-handed (or like to operate gadgets with your left hand) note that it is impossible to push the Menu button. It would take a double-jointed freak of nature to comfortably push it.
* The case is a dust and hair magnet. Every time you pull it out of your pocket, it's encrusted with lint you didn't even know you had. Dust manages to sneak under every surface, and hair magically sticks to it. This case is a DNA-sample paradise for forensic experts.

One of the features of a flash-based memory player is the fact that they won't break as easily when you drop them. Unless you're paranoid about getting scratches on your shiny new Sansa, don't buy this.

Customer Review: Mine looks different from the one pictured
Summary: 5 Stars

I don't usually write reviews on here, but I thought I should since this product seems to have a bad rap. I ordered mine through "Speedyretailer" through Amazon. I think they were like $3.50 or something and shipping was more than the actual product. I got them and they are actually more than I expected from reading the reviews on here. I find it easier to hit the buttons now, but mine are different than the one pictured. The Silicone on mine covers the buttons and has the buttons stamped on it and you just press through the silicone. I find it much easier even though I was getting used to manuvering and clicking the buttons. It fits perfectly and yes it collects a little crud on it, but it is silicone...DUH! It's not too hard to wipe off. It even comes with a belt hook you can install or keep off. I'm totally satisfied.

Customer Review: Does what its suppose to do
Summary: 5 Stars

Yes its a dust magnet but I don't have to worry about dropping or scratching it when putting it down. I've been using these rubber skins since the 3rd gen Ipod. It doesnt add that much width to the player and it doesnt get in the way when going for the buttons (anymore than the rotary dial does). it fits nice and tight just add a piece of screen protector film and your set.

PS - You may as well buy it from Amazon as they have the best price. Everywhere else its 15 bucks. Order it when you order the player or you'll spend another week waiting for the rubber skin
