Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk Sansa c250 2 GB MP3 Player (Black)

Customer Review: Great Value
Summary: 4 Stars

I upgraded from an ipod shuffle. Load in the Sansa disc for a new music library. You can't drag over from Itunes, but shows you how to drag over the same music out of Windows Media Music. I ordered this item for me from my wife from Amazon for $40 on the Black Friday sale. 2GB was worth it. I had my music ready to go Christmas Day. While it charged I learned not only of the Window media, but also that it held photos. I quckly dragged some of those in also. I'm not a fan of earbuds. The music sounds great thru them, but I plan to replace them with headphones. The screen is visually appealing. The menu toook a little time to figure out. I can now do anything so small, that the makers designed as an option that often goes un-used or over-looked. This only enhances the experience. It does have FM stereo which I forgot. I tune it to my Sirius Satellite Radio for commercial free music. I can then push the Record button on the MP3 and add a song that I don't have in my library. I use the lanyard because there is no clip. It often tangles with the earbuds when storing. A clip would have been best. It does come with about 4 songs and pictures in memory.

Customer Review: First attempt not good...
Summary: 1 Stars

I ordered this MP3 player for my mom on her birthday. I already own the same player, so I knew it would be easy for her to operate. The player came in the mail in a timely fashion and appeared to be new and in the origional packaging.

When we opened the packaging and hooked the player up to the computer to start syncing music, we got a less than pleasant surprise- the player was obviously used. Almost half of the 2G of storage was already used- there were many, many songs already loaded (not the type of music Mom would want to listen to!). We attempted to remove these pre-loaded songs, but we kept getting error messages. Attempts to sync new music also got error messages. We followed directions to restore the player to "factory new condition", but the player locked up and nothing changed.

We are returning this player, and getting a replacement. I feel like we were given a used, defective returned item advertised as new. I am willing to give Amazon another chance to correct this situatuion, but I admit I am disappointed. If the items sold are refurbished or returned re-sells, they should be advertised as such.

Customer Review: Excellent MP3 Player
Summary: 4 Stars

An abundance of features, good sound quality, user friendly menu, easy to connect to a computer to load music or pictures, removeable rechargeable lithium battery, FM tuner and good ear buds. Sansa should include an AC charger in the package to make it more convenient to charge the battery without having to connect it to a computer's USB slot. The process of loading the player with music couldn't be easier; the player shows up as its own drive in Windows and music files can be copied to the player or you can use your favorite music software (Windows Media Player, etc.) to sync with the player and load music easily. No hard drive to skip or fail. Voice recording is a nice plus.

Get this player if you want an easy to use and reasonably priced, windows based flash MP3 player!

Update 11/10: Our player is still working well, it needed repair after a good washing in the washing machine inside my son's pants pocket - fortunately Sansa repaired it at no charge under the warranty. The bad news is that this player is now outdated and there are much better ones out there today.

Customer Review: The c250's fatal flaw
Summary: 1 Stars

I have gone through 5 of these things now all because of the same problem. The left channel keeps going out. Now dont get me wrong the c250 was great until this happened the first time. I thought it was a fluke, then the second one did the exact same thing, and the third, fourth and finnaly the fifth. The only reason i even did this five times is because i called the warranty line and complained until they replaced it. The first three all broke in the original 12 month factory warranty. The last 2 within the next year and were only replaced because i was so angry and presistant on the phone. Sansa refused to give me a new one year warranty on the replacements and said only the first 12 months from the original purchase date would be honnored in their warranty. It wasnt a fluke just poor quality. the problem occures when pluging and unpluging the head phones or audio cable. I have been extra carful not to bump the headphone jack and unplug it carfuly, i still breaks. I wouldn't recomend this pile of @%$@ to anyone. I think i will buy a sony, my original tapedeck Sony Walkman still works, and is about 20 YEARS OLD!!!

Customer Review: Average or minimally good
Summary: 3 Stars

First the good. I bought this for its recording feature. I don't care much for the other features, such as photos, MP3 player, etc. I have iPod for that, thank you. For the 2GB capacity, it is more than I care. And that's good. The simplicity of the recording is excellent, better than I expected. This tops the Sony voice recorder I have that I paid a lot more for than this Sansa. All you need to do when you're in a recording mode is two buttons. Press the Pause button and the recording is On. If you don't like what you recorded press the OK button and you're given a choice to save it or not. That simple. In terms of recorded voice quality, it's very crisp and clear. No static. I use this to record Bible texts. And I'm happy about it.

Now the bad. With that small screen, photo display is a joke. The battery charge indicator is hardly visible. You hardly see the dashes move indicating the battery is in a charge mode. Another thing, if you can remove the battery cover without destroying the unit, good luck. I still rate this as a worthy product for a simple, high quality voice recorder.
