Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk Sansa c250 2 GB MP3 Player (Black)Customer Review: Sandisk is the Ipod Killah!! Summary: 5 Stars
I actually purchased this for a friend... but I do own the Sansa E260 4 gig and a 30 gig ipod video... and let me say that sandisk is on the right track... besides all the other little gimmicks (fm radio & voice recorder)... I think their superior to the ipod... for the simple reason if you don't have an apple they're way easier to use... just plug it in and drag and drop... or you can just drop tracks into windows media player and click sync and off you go... ipod's are really nice don't get me wrong... I use mine all the time... my girl uses my sansa... but they're so difficult in comparison... and I'm pretty tech savy... the biggest problem I have with the ipod is that you can't just add songs.. you have to take them into a program then sync all the songs... I had the misfortune of clickin the just add recent songs and it delete all 14 gigs of the other music I had on there... never had that problem with the sandisk products... also if you have the E200 they play ALL video formats... you just drop them into the converter and it's on there... don't even let me start on getting video on an ipod... the only complaint I have is they don't make larger ones... I want to see a 80 gig sandisk... if one comes out... I'm pawning my ipod for sure!!
Customer Review: Barely Works Summary: 1 Stars
Good:
-memory appears like a flash drive and will hold songs from WM Player
-a single song will play on this player
-battery lasts about 6 to 8 hours
-Windows Media Player can convert song files to Sansa; if you don't have WMP, there is no software from Sandisk that will load them.
Bad:
-Beyond playing a song, player can't do much more
-Playlists can only be installed on the fixed 2GB memory, non-removable
-Added micro SD card appears as another player, not additional memory
-Added memory is limited to 2 GB Micro SD (NOT Micro SDHC)
-Total memory cannot be more than 2 GB plus 2 GB, always separated
-Playlists cannot play from both memories, only the fixed internal 2GB
-If two playlists contain the same song, the song will be added twice
-Sound quality is minimal
-Sound volume at max is about medium compared to other players
-Available operator's manual/website has little or no information
-Player is physically very weak, won't play at temperatures below 50 F
Overall, if you are looking to play more than 500 songs or if you want to have multiple playlists without duplicate songs in memory, this ain't it!
Customer Review: I <3 my Sansa! Summary: 4 Stars
I got my pretty red sansa for graduation, and I adore the little thing. Small, attractive, good battery life for my needs, and believe me, 500 songs is a lot more than it seems.
NOW my problems with it:
-The headphones are crap. As many el-cheapo headphones are. They started freying in like less than a month, stopped working shortly thereafter.
-My volume button died. I can turn the volume up, but something broke inside so i can't turn it down. There's no resistance when i push it. It broke 2 or 3 months after I got it.
-You know what an mp3 player needs that none of the manufacturers think of? A clock.
-I have a problem. It has the same safety feature of an ipod, in that you can't access your songs on more than one computer. I was using it on my family's computer over the summer, and then I moved into an apartment where I'm renting a computer, so I can't put music on it. One thing my dad suggested to solve this was to get a micro SD and route that directly onto the computer. I thought that might be good. But as of yet I haven't bought one.
Mostly my problems with it have been small. Overall, I really love this product. It's my Sansa Baby :)
Customer Review: Simple, inexpensive, perfect for my needs! Summary: 4 Stars
Technology has for the most part passed me by -- too many bells and whistles, too many products to facilitate the constant-connected, constantly doing something world we live in. I'm more private, quiet, laid back, and have simple needs.
When I finally got an mp3 player, this one fit my simple needs almost to a tee. Small enough to be easy to carry around, yet the controls are easy to work, even with my fat fingers. 2 mb is more than enough for me, and if need be, in the future I can just get SD cards and swap out additional music. The built-in FM radio works great, and is a definite plus. Sound quality is excellent, and it plays all day on a charge. And if the battery goes south, I can just put in a new one (can't do that on them there fancy overpriced iPod machines...).
The ONLY drawback keeping this unit short of 5 stars is that it can only be charged via USB. This would be a drawback if I ever wanted to take it on a trip, or use it during an emergency where I didn't have access to a computer. But other than that, for the price it is both easy to use and performs well. This is about as fancy-schmancy as technology should get, IMHO.
Customer Review: What a great buy... I love it! Summary: 5 Stars
Don't waste your money on an iPod! This little baby is all the MP3 player you need. The sound is excellent... use the EQ settings to get a perfect fit for your ears, or customize your own setting. The headphones included with he player are okay but not great; I upgraded to a Sony pair and it now sounds even better. The FM radio reception is as good as I've seen. In my office building radio stations are hard to tune in, but I can get my favorites using this. Battery life is pretty good... I use it for hours every weekday at work and only have to charge it about once per week. The picture viewer is adequate, but I've rarely used it. By far my favorite feature is the Micro SD card reader, which makes the memory virtually unlimited. If 2 GB isn't enough storage space for you, buy a few Micro SD cards and carry those with you. I have several stocked with different music... one for jazz, one for oldies, etc... and I just swap them in and out depending on what mood I'm in. (You can find them online for about $12 for 1 GB, maybe even cheaper.) This player gives you TONS of value for the money, unlike those rip-off iPods. I highly recommend it!
