This mp3 player is good for kids - easy to use and has nice features, like the built-in speaker. Two important things to note: the bottom DOES click shut. It's a little fussy and you have to turn it until you hear the "click", but the bottom doesn't come off easily if you take this step. Secondly, it's a little bit of a hassle to use with itunes, but you can create mp3 versions of songs on itunes, which is what I did to copy my songs onto this shaker. If you have purchase songs on itunes, you can download them to a cd, then reload them in mp3 format. A little hassle the first time, but now that I have the kids favorite songs loaded, it'll be awhile before I need to reload or change the songs. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase (although they were much cheaper at toys-ru-us!)Customer Review: Fun product for kids

We purchased the Sansa Shaker for my four year old for his birthday. He is a kid who loves to rock out. We loaded tons of his favorite songs on it, and he carries it everywhere. It's pretty sturdy. It's already been dropped a couple of times and it has held up well. Good sound comes from the top and it is very kid friendly. He learned how to operate it in under five minutes. This mp3 player is PERFECT for him. The only thing I don't like about it is the battery cap at the bottom of the player. At first we couldn't get it off and now it just falls off randomly when you try to skip songs. It is difficult to get it on just right. Other that that I would recommend this player for kids up to age 10- Any older than that and you might as well invest in a real iPod.Customer Review: Great for my son, but terrible battery life

I bought this item over a year ago for my four year-old who loves music. I wanted an mp3 player with a speaker and easy to use controls. This one was perfect - easy to load with songs from our PC and he was able to use it right out of the box. It soon became his favorite toy. My only issue is that the single AAA battery lasts about a day before running out. We solved this problem by buying some rechargeable batteries and immediately replacing the spent battery with a charged one. I am actually buying this product again because after a year of using and abusing it, my son finally broke it. He has been devastated that his music player is no longer working. I would recommend it for anyone with a young child who loves music - just get rechargeable batteries!Customer Review: Great for kids...

We bought this for my son who is 5 and wanted an ipod. It is VERY easy for him to use & it's cute to see him shake it to get to the next song. He really enjoys it. We love how he can choose to use the earplugs or he can have them unplugged & it'll play out loud. It also has a 2nd place for somebody else to plug his or her ear phones in as well so 2 people can listen to it at a time.
And for me (mom) it's very simple to add the music to it. We have ipods & other mp3 players but this has got to be the simplest of them all. Click & drag is basically how easy it is. The best thing of all was the price. I couldn't believe how reasonable it was.
I would highly recommend this MP3 player. Simple enough for almost any child.

I bought this for my 3 yr. old who loves music. Easy to use, pretty easy to load music especially from a CD. Couldn't upload an mp3 song - don't know if I'm doing it correctly so I'm not sure if it's me or the sansa shaker. As for other reviews where the bottom doesn't stay on, you have to turn it until it clicks. To open, you press down & turn (like a prescription bottle), insert your battery, & close by turning with a little pressure until it clicks. Head phones are good - they actually stay in my son's ears and I love that it has a speaker so he doesn't have to use the headphones. Very easy to use, has been dropped once & it still works so it's sturdy. I would recommend this item - in fact I have. I'm also getting one for my 6 yr. old
