Customer Review: The Little MP3 Player That Could/Can!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this player for well over a year, and unfortunately have outgrown its memory capacity and am shopping for a new player. BUT- aside from its small memory, it's awesome!
*I've never had a problem with software compatibility on any computer (and never bothered to install the driver/firmware type CD that's included. Everything just works, on my desktop, laptop, friend's computers and at work.
*The radio aspect is nice, and has never had bad reception. I might like it better if it could save stations, though.
*It's small and unobtrusive. I can just slip it in my pocket.
*It has never broken! I'm pretty hard on electronics, and most things I buy (phones, mp3 players, etc) break within the first six months, because I'm not terribly careful and won't ever be. This thing has taken some serious abuse. It's constantly being dropped, stepped on, etc. The only problem it has ever had is that every now and again it will freeze on a screen and need to be rebooted.
*The battery life is excellent. On a heavy week of walking, it will need one charge, but usually, once every month or so will do.
*I like the simplicity of navigation. I do wish it would do a better job of sorting music, though. Depending on the format of the file name, a song might get lost in "Unknown Artist" until I track it down.
*The shuffle works superbly, and I'm not sure if it's chance or some wacky algorithm, but songs tend to flow nicely. Songs seem to transition gently between violin concertos and heavier music, like Boston Hardcore. Probably a coincidence, though.

I absolutely love this player, and I wish it could be expanded. But, its lifetime of use has definitely paid for itself. My husband also has one, that he gets a lot of use out of. The Sansa Clip is a great buy, especially for people who are tough on electronics like the very active, and younger, clumsier people.

Customer Review: Clip accessory is fragile, hard to make playlists, but other than that...
Summary: 3 Stars

First the problems I have had:
The first one of these I purchased lasted one use because the clip itself cracked and broke. This was very disappointing since the reason I purchased it was to clip it onto my shirt during exercise. Sansa would not send me a replacement clip accessory, but Amazon took it back and I got another one. Be aware that the clip itself is FRAGILE.
[Sansa now sells replacement clips on their website]

The second problem I have is making playlists. I had to research on the internet for how people did playlists because it comes with no software. You can download a user manual from Sansa that shows you how to make playlists from Windows Media Player, but that didn't even work for me. Other people use Winamp or Media Monkey to make playlists and seem to have found a way to do it. I can't get the songs to show up. I follow the instructions and it shows EMPTY on the player. If you are one of those who likes hard to solve mysteries, who likes to tinker with electronics you might be ok. If you are like me and want an easy to use software that does things easily you may want to go somewhere else.

Now the good things:
1. NOT an ipod so you are not stuck using proprietary software like itunes
2. small
3. you can have actual albums on there! It is not just a shuffle which to me is just one big playlist. I can decide I am in the mood for Daughtry and play the whole album. You can choose by artist, album etc. and not just have a random shuffle like on other small MP3 players.
4. good sound quality
5. FM tuner for the gym

So I am only giving this 3 stars because of the clip accessory breaking and because making a playlist is way more challenging than it should be. It is a good price, small and sounds good. You have to decide if the good outweighs the bad.

Customer Review: My review after 8 months of use
Summary: 5 Stars

It's a great product first of all. I was looking for a small mp3 player I could manage to carry around with me. For this 4gb device, it could hold at least 300 songs. It's great just for using on-the-go. Features are mp3, voice recording, FM radio, etc., which make it a very useful, multifunctional device. I've only utilized the mp3 function, however.

I chose this over the ipod shuffle because you don't need to download any software to use it (just drag and drop songs directly into the device), there is a view screen, multifunctional, there's a clip on the back, and the price was reasonable (more for the dollar).

So after using this little guy for the past 8 months, I'm very happy with my purchase. It has a very long battery life (though charging takes at least 4-6hrs for a full charge). I listen to it for about 2hrs a day and a charge lasts about a week or longer. You must have a computer to charge this (via usb port). I haven't looked into ac adapters, so I can't say if one even exists.

It hasn't broken down on me yet, though it has froze once when I hooked it up to my computer. When I resetted the device by holding down on the power button for a couple seconds, the memory was intact and uncorrupted (a plus!). The only downside so far is the clip on the back. The clip itself can slide off easily prompting me to put it in my purse or pocket when I use it. I have a 2gb version of this device and the clip is very sturdy and secure. I'm assuming my 4gb came with a faulty clip.

Also, I don't prefer listening to my music very loud with earphones(trying to delay the extent of hearing loss later on...), but even the low volume setting for this is pretty loud. I had to buy earphones with volume control in order to use this. Sound quality is definitely not an issue.

I hope this review helps!

Customer Review: Best bang for your buck!
Summary: 5 Stars

I am so happy with this cute little mp3 player! I didn't like the idea of paying more money for a certain brand, so I searched around and found this little Sansa clip. After reading the reviews on Amazon and other tech sites(check out the Sansa Clip on youtube) I was convinced so I got the 4GB silver Clip. The sound quality is absolutely amazing and it is so easy to use!

My father-in-law got a Shuffle a few weeks before I got my clip and he's still struggling with how to load songs onto it, whereas I simply drag and drop the songs I want onto the little Sansa icon. It comes with a free 30 day trial of Rhapsody, which I am using, but you don't even need it. Simply use whatever media program you already have on your computer. And unlike the Shuffle, I have a screen on mine so that I can change to a different artist or playlist if I want to, or change the settings.

One things I learned the hard way is that the clip will only charge while it's on, so I got concerned that it wasn't holding a charge. Just make sure it's on while you're charging it. You might also want to look into getting the protective cover/charger bundle. As soon as I got the cover on mine I dropped it, but there was no damage at all. On the other hand, if you have a charger for a Motorola Razor it will work with the Sansa Clip. And if earbuds hurt your ears, like they do mine, you might want to invest in good pair of earplugs. I got the JVC Air Cushions and they are amazing!

All in all I would highly recommend this Sansa Clip to anyone who just wants to have a good mp3 player but doesn't want to spend a whole lot of money to get one. And if you're not too tech-savy, no problem with this little thing. The screen is great, the AM-FM tuner is great, the sound quality is phenomenal, and the price is just right.

Customer Review: Tiny player... that Rocks!
Summary: 5 Stars

This little player was a big surprise to me. Have you ever seen a super tiny electronic device that seems to do more than is possible for it's tiny size? Well, this certainly fits into that category. To illustrate how tiny this thing is, the size of the circular dial on the front of it (the blue glowing circle) is slightly smaller than a quarter. The player itself is super thin too. So here are a few more reasons why this player is amazing:

Pros:
-Super Tiny and Thin
-Sound quality is great
-Built in Radio
-Built in Microphone
-Built in Clip (hence the name) and perfect for jogging
-Super bright 2 color Led Screen (it's probably organic LED)
-Plug & Play (at least it was for me)... just like a USB drive
-Long lasting internal battery (my guess is at least 8 hours play time)
-Charges through standard Mini-usb to USB cable.
-Amazing price for all the features it includes.

Cons:
I honestly don't have anything bad to say about this player, and I swear that I don't work for Sandisk. I kind of collect MP3 players and also own the Creative Zen Vision and Zen Muvo^2.

Conclusion: If you are thinking about buying an Ipxd shuffle or replacing your shuffle, this player is perfect for your needs and is so much better than a shuffle. It is easier to use, has more features, and sounds better! Not to mention it also has a LED screen. Plus, you don't have to deal with Itunes. Just plug this baby in, drag some songs from your computer and you're done. And yes, it does have a "Shuffle" play mode which includes "Repeat tracks" or "Play once" options. This little player really is a marvel of modern tech... I hope someday they will sell one with 60GB of memory. Now that... would Rock! For now, they only come in 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB... I think.
