Customer Review: Don't Buy This Item On Line

I purchased this item from Amazon merchant Blue Proton. It came with a defective cable which could not plug into player. Blue Proton will not accept returns of MP3 players (wish I had read that before purchasing.) I contacted the manufacturer and was told to buy a new cable. Priced them at Radio Shack - $28.00! Almost the price of a new player. Sandisk said I would hear from their returns department but no one has contacted me. I happened to have a cable for my camera which fit the player so I have been able to charge it and load music. It seems to work well. Wish they had instructions for us old folks - I have difficulty navigating the menu. I am taking it on a long plane trip soon so I will test the battery's capacity. I would only buy this from a merchant that will let you return it.Customer Review: Get a clip!

This is rate the product, not rate the site... Anyhow, I bought this MP3 player at BestBuy as well (black). I think there must have been some agreement with Sandisk and BestBuy on the 2gb models because I couldn't find it in stock anywhere else. The interface is easy to use, I like that it charges with the standard mini-usb cable, the sound is good and even though it's all plastic, it appears to be made well. It doesn't really have an apples to apples ipod comparison because it has a display on it. The headphones that come with it suck (as with almost all mp3 players), so I'd suggest buying something else when you get the mp3 player.
For a small mp3 player which is good for working out, I don't see a better option.

Who are all the sheep giving these things four- and five-star reviews?
Either they work for SanDisk and they're following orders, or they've only had their products for a week or so. Because after a few months, they'll more than likely find out that Sansa products break all by themselves. This has happened to me and everyone I know who's ever owned one.
Though the folks behind iPods are something of iNazis when it comes to song sharing, at least Apple products are built to last.
Sansa products are cheap, and buying one is like flushing your money down the toilet.
This is the truth. Don't listen to these glowing reviews. I don't know who in the world who has owned a Sansa prodcut would give it a good review.

My wife wanted something prectical, easy to use, good for an active lifestyle.... AND PINK. Picked this up for christmas for her and she loves it. She has never owned one before and picked it up and started aadding music no problem. I didnt even have to use the disk that came with it. She uses it when she walks, cleans, plays with baby. She hasnt dropped it yet and when I advised her she could remove the clip her reply was "Are you crazy?!" We both would highly reccomend this product to someone on the go who is concerned with music and music only. Sandisk has excellent tech support to boot
Side note: I haven't tested the mic yet. But with my sandisk experience, I would assume the quality will be satisfactory.

Bought the 2g Sandisk on 'black friday' at Best Buy for a great doorbuster price of $34.99! Could not get it to load on my computer with Windows Vista. Back to Best Buy with my computer in tow to talk to the Geeks. They could not get it to load either. Got a new one off the shelf...same problem. I just wanted an entry level mp3 to download NPR programs and some music. The FM radio worked great. I'm glad I bought this item at Best Buy instead of off the Internet. Although I was frustrated in not getting the thing to work for me, I felt good about Best Buy standing behind the product and giving me a full refund with good customer service. Still looking for an entry level mp3 but more hesitant
