Customer Review: Simply the Best as MP3 Players Go ~ No Pod for me!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought a second unit for my wife's birthday as she liked mine much better than her i-Pod. The simplicity and various ways of loading music to say nothing of the freedom of using several varieties of files can't be beat!
If you're into athletic activities [She runs and I rollerblade], you can't do better if you're strictly looking for something to listen to music. I can't vouch for the radio quality as I only listen to my own playlists but this thing is the size of a matchbox, clips easily onto your wasteband, pocket, whatever and has durable and comfortable earphones. For $50, it's got to be the best bargain in town. The battery is easily charged off any usb port on the computer and can be disconnected at any time without damage. The charge lasts from 8-10 hours and again can be loaded by simply dragging song files wave, mp3 or several other formats and dropping in the unit memory folder. Playlists are easily synched from the Windows Media Player if you want to go that route.
I could go on and on but suffice to say I highly recommend this unit!

Customer Review: I love my Sandisk Sansa Clip!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased my first Sandisk Mp3 player three years ago.
Remember when they were black and white and a completely different shape?
It was so easy to use that for a moment there, I felt like a genius for being able to download an audiobook not five minutes after connecting it to my computer.
I am addicted to audiobooks and, sadly, I worked my first player to death, and that was only 4 months ago.
Since then, I have purchased two Sandisk Clips and they are awesome. No problems whatsoever with them.
If I could change one thing about the Sandisks, it would be battery life, but I am not complaining. My 90 year old father has macular degeneration and not being able to read has been a real blow to him, so I clamped one on his shirt and said, "Here, give a listen" and he has that thing on him all the time.
We download free Public Domain audiobooks from librivox dot org.
I have recommended the Sandisk Sansa Clip to friends and several have purchased them.

Customer Review: It's Only Fair to Warn You
Summary: 2 Stars

I've had two Sansa Clips and an e260. They all three failed after a few weeks. The first Clip's screen went black. It still worked, but because I couldn't see the menu, I couldn't find the various functions. Once in a while I'd stumble on a radio station or playback but it was more trouble than it was worth. When it is connected to the computer, I can add and move files, so at least I can use it as a thumb drive.

Since I liked the size and functionality of the Clip, I bought another one. It too stopped working; the power button got no response and when I connected it to the computer, the computer didn't recgonize it.

Prior to getting the Clips, I had used the e260 about two months before it went off and wouldn't turn back on. That's when I switched to the Clips. When the Clips both broke, I tried the e260 and it worked! But only for a few days. Now it's dead again.

I'm a slow learner, but I've finally decided Sansa's are not well made.

Customer Review: Enjoy it while you can
Summary: 3 Stars

I'm conflicted about this cute little MP3. I love the clip and the size. Love the features, easy to get my music on and like that I can go to sleep with the timer. However, not sure if this MP3 is going to last. At first I couldn't get it to fully charge and the charge didn't seem to last anywhere near the amount of time SanDisk says it will. I change between usb port charging and the ac charger that I bought with it. I question if the ac charger is ok to use with it. SanDisk does say in their manual that it can be done, but the unit gets hot and doesn't fully charge it seems to me. I've gone back to the usb port charging and it is working well. My clip did completely "die" last week, read the comments on SanDisk site and "re-booted" it and all is well once again. Guess for the price I will use it until it quits. Don't have a lot of confidence in it's longevity after reading lots of reviews. Will enjoy it while I can....

Customer Review: Great MP3 player for 1st time owners
Summary: 4 Stars

I researched MP3 players for a few weeks and decided on the Clip to start out with. As most have already stated (see other 2 GB Clip reviews), this is a great little MP3 player, and cute too! It's my first MP3 player, which I found very easy to use.

I've had it for 2 weeks now, no problems (after firmware update). My Clip is mainly used for audio books from NetLibrary and OverDrive, along with NPR podcasts. Overall, it does what it's supposed to do at a very affordable price.

The two downsides:
- No bookmarking, which would be very beneficial for NetLibrary, since their audiobooks aren't broken down into parts.
- The screen is legible, but somewhat hard to read unless you hold it up close.

It works well in the car if you have an auxiliary plug-in. I'd suggest replacing the included earphones, they aren't very comfortable, but I expected that.
