Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk SDSDB-256-A10 256 MB Secure Digital Card (Retail Package)

Customer Review: Wish I bought two
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a Viewsonic V35 pocket pc bought from Amazon.com, and bought the SanDisk 256MB SD card. They work great together, but there is really only 241 MB of space available for data. I got the card on sale at Amazon.com and wish I had bought two, because the price has gone up. If I could get another for that price I would. Hint hint Amazon.com I use it to hold about 5 hours of my music on my pocket pc. hope they come out with a 512 MB or a 1 GB card soon at a reasonable price so I can store all the music I want plus photos etc on one card.

Customer Review: Card corrupted with 200 photos on it
Summary: 3 Stars

My memory card corrupted after working wonderfully for a few weeks. My research into the cause provided me with the opportunity to buy recovery software but not much more in the way of help. My camera's manufacturer's website also gave insight into the problem, which leads me to believe that this is not an unusual occurance. Very frustrating!! Apparently it was caused by the way I handled my camera, unbenonst to me. My family has, however, used this same brand of disk without any problems. I have been using it in a 4MP Kodak camera.

Customer Review: Don't buy this product!!!!
Summary: 1 Stars

I just lost a bunch of photos on this card from our trip to Cambodia and Vietnam. I also have a 256 from Lexar and Panasonic. No problems with those. The photos were still on the SanDisk card when we returned home. I put it in the card reader and nothing came up. I tried again two days later, and got some puzzling information; put it back into the camera (Pentax Optio 550) and got a "card not formatted" message. Buy cheap, get cheap. WARNING - DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. Unfortunately I couldn't give it zero or negative stars.

Customer Review: No problems for me.
Summary: 5 Stars

Reading the previous reviews, one might be led to believe that SanDisk makes shoddy products. My experience has been quite the opposite. My Kodak camera came with a 32 MB SanDisk SD card, and we bought a 128MB SanDisk card to go along with it. Then when prices came down a bit, we went for the SanDisk 256MB. We have had ZERO problems with any of these cards. I use the 128 MB with my PNY card reader to shuttle photos, mp3s, etc, among my 3 computers; no problems whatsoever. I would not hesitate to buy more SD cards from SanDisk.

Customer Review: Sorely disappointed
Summary: 2 Stars

Having a good experience with my Palm, I thought this item would work great on my Pocket PC--well it did, up until I tried to get some data off it one morning. It was all gone: everything I thought would be safely backed up on the card. I was wrong. True, the Pocket PC is not, even in its latest incarnation as simple or as non-PC-like as the Palm--in fact there are _disk utilities_ that are available to help you do PC-like things to your disks. Unfortunately, non of them worked for me in this case.
