Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk SDSDB-1024-A10/11 1 GB Secure Digital Card (Retail Package)

Customer Review: Good Product, Poor Service
Summary: 2 Stars

First let me explain that this is a great product. I bought the card for my canon digital camera and haven't had any problems with it since.

The large capacity allows me to take it on long vacations without have to juggle multiple cards around. And as an avid, amateur photographer that is important.

The only gripe I have with the product is the rebate. I sent my original UPC code to SanDisk and now they are claiming it was incorrect. Luckily I had kept the packaging for just such an unfortunate occurrence. And as I had expected, I indeed did send them the UPC on the packaging; however, now they are refusing to follow up on their part of the deal.

I sent them a letter over two weeks ago and have not received a response. This is unacceptable. It is my understanding that the SanDisk people are crooks. Buyer beware.

Customer Review: SanDisk, I Can't Let You Go
Summary: 4 Stars

SanDisk is SO AWESOME! I can't even put it into words. That's why I wrote this short song to the tune of the popular Iggy Pop/Kate Pierson duet, "Candy":

Beautiful beautiful
Card from the north
You stored my images
SDSDB 1024
I had a dream that no one else could see
You gave me storage for free

I've had a hole in my slot for so long.
I've tried to fake it and just carry on.
Out on the street
Those digital cameras are all the same.
They need a secure digital card
Not games.
Not games.

SanDisk, SanDisk, SanDisk
I can't let you go.
All my life, you're haunting me
I loved you so-o-o.
SanDisk, SanDisk, SanDisk
Life is crazy
(Life is crazy)
SanDisk, baby.

Customer Review: A good thing to have
Summary: 5 Stars

It's good to have so much memory if you're going on a long road trip and don't have a computer or laptop near by. I put my camera's (canon A520) settings so that it takes pictures that are around 600-900 kb rather than 1-2 mb so I can take up to 1200 pictures. If you take videos with your camera, this is a good thing to have since videos can take up a lot of space. If you're not as lazy and are willing to always put your pictures into your computer after every use, you may want to get a smaller card but with the new cameras now a days, I wouldn't be surprised if the pictures are 3-4 mbs each. So you may want a bigger memory card. I got mine for around 24.95? There was a rebate on it. If you look you can make a good steal; I've seen them sold for 9.95.

Customer Review: Good Deal... Theoretically...
Summary: 4 Stars

The product itself is great it is awesome having 1GB of portable memory. I use it for my V36 viewsonic PDA and I can store several MP3's along with storing my other data such as pictures, notes, and Word documents. I also use it with my small SD card reader and so it works great as thumb drive as well. The only reason I give it a 4 is because the SanDisk lost the UPC that I sent in with the rebate and so I didn't really save that much. Normally I keep copies of the rebates and this one I didn't...that's a lesson to be learned. So for such a high rated company that was a bunch of crap. Other than that, the product itself is great, just remember to keep a copy of your UPC if you send it in for rebates.

Customer Review: The Price I've Been Waiting For
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a Panasonic SV-AV100, a camcorder that uses flash instead of tapes. It's a wonderful, cigarette box sized camcorder the only downside of which needs a monster amount of memory. I finally purchased a Sandisk 1G after waiting and couldn't be happier. The read/write speeds are actually slightly better than my 512 Panasonic card and I have had no problems with computer recognition (running XP) or corrupt files which I've read happen to people from time to time.

I plan to purchase another on Amazon for my Treo so I can now use it as a serious MP3 player, storing roughly 300 songs. That's good enough for me...don't need to purchase an iPod for Christmas!
