Customer Review: Excess CPU Usage problem

I purchased the SanDisk 12-in-1 Card Reader to use with a new Sony camera with memory stick. After installing the unit and software, I noticed my computer slowed down. After much searching, I found that the unit causes the CPU usage to go from an average of abou 5% to in excess of 50% with what appeared to be a related program slow down. I am forced to shut down the software at bootup and then forced to start the software to use the unit. It appears that the software is intended to be active whenever the computer is running. I am very disapponted with the reader and will scrap the unit in favor of a more user friendly product.Customer Review: Blazing Fast!

Needing a card reader for 3 types of cards, I decided on the Sandisk ImageMate 12 in 1 card reader. Might as well spend the money, and have one that reads everything. Hooked up the usb, and my pc, with Windows Me, recognized it right away. Download speed from card to pc, was blazing fast. I had always used a usb cable with my camera to pc, but after using the 12 in 1 card reader,it is so much easier and faster to use. Cradle that reader sits in, is nice also. It keeps the reader out of the way, and takes up only inches of my pc desk. I'm sold on card readers from now on. I'd give this reader a 10 out of 10 stars.Customer Review: Not User Friendly, but OK

I got this because I have a bunch of digital frames and have several SD cards to use. The things I dont like are the software included (I uninstalled it after using it twice), but that is OK because it works with windows without it. It adds 4 drives to your computer if it has a card in it or not, making you search for what you just plugged in. The card slots are difficult to seat the card in. They are universal so the slots support a bunch of different sized cards and they dont seat firmly. The good thing is that this will read just about anything you put in it and it works with little effort.Customer Review: Great Product / Exactly As Described

I will not repeat the product description or the praises of previous reviewers, but will simply state that this product works precisely as described, connects elegantly and without software or drivers (in Windows XP and later Windows 2000 Service Packs) and includes a vertical stand (though, for the minimalist, the rubber feet on the unit itself secure it nicely horizontally without the stand).
The Sandisk ImageMate 12-in-1 USB 2.0 Hi-speed Reader is small, aesthetically pleasing, and completely functional.
Deserves no less than five stars.

I recently discovered that my Canon S30 would not download images to my computer via USB cable. Apparently I dropped (or crushed) it one too many times. I bought this Sandisk card reader to read the camera's Compact Flash card. I was happily surprised to find that this card reader is much faster downloading the images to my computer. It also lets you copy images from one flash card to another. In XP it automatically maps each card reading slot as a drive. This card reader seamlessly integrates with Adobe Photoshop Elements which I use to download and process my images.
