I purchased this card for my Canon 10D (and later 30D). It is a fast card but there must have been some bad 'sectors' because my camera would have a write error and restart for about a dozen shots with the card half full. A few months after discovering the problem I got around to returning it. It took a few days for my submitted request to be received, including the review of a faxed copy of the invoice. They provided a free UPS label to ship the card back. Six days after they received my broken card, a new one sealed in box arrived on my doorstep. The new one works fine. It's very fast, although probably not quite as fast as the 2gb version which I also have. They say the most satisfied customers aren't necessarily the ones who had a 'perfect' experience, but rather the ones who encountered a problem and had it resolved promptly and professionally. I ordered two of these cards with my Canon 5D. They work very well and the write speeds are good. The read speeds are a little slow for my taste, but this is my first large file digi-cam, so I really don't know what to expect in the way of write speed.
The cards all work with no issues.
It is nice that they come with the recovery software as well as the hard and soft cases. I really have no need for the soft cases. But I will use the hard cases.
I like them so much that I ordered two more two weeks later. In the mean time, the Amazon price went up about $4 from my initial order and before the second order was shipped; the price went down about $6. I called Amazon (using the on-line call feature, which is very nice) and they not only refunded the delta on the new order, but also refunded me $2 for the initial order. I call that service.

I needed a faster writing Compact Flash card for the type of camera I use. One of my photographic techniques is taking Timelapse photography where I am setting a triggering device to take a photo at a rate of 1 or 2 frames a second for extended periods (from several minutes to over an hour) My camera is capable of recording 2 frames/second indefinately if I have a CF card that allows fast write speeds. The Extreme III fit the bill.
My digital Photograph goes back to the early to mid 90's when owning a 128 MEG card was amazing. I remember paying several hundred dollars to own a 512 MEG CF card. Now, to own a very fast 4 GIG card for under $50...What a bargin. I have used many brands of CF cards and always found SanDisk to be very reliable! I can only image in a few years having a 16 GIG card for under $20...don't worry, it's comming... Way to go SanDisk!

I'm a huge fan of this flash card. Of course, it's what was suggested when I purchased my camera (Sony Alpha 300) and it's the only card that I've used, but I haven't had any problems. The thing that I appreciate most is that I can reuse the cards. At first I was purchasing a new one for every shoot (or every other shoot), which is spendy, but it's not necessary. They hold up well with multiple uses.
I'm a pet photographer and I shoot mainly dogs - candid, fun, on location - and I need a camera and a flash card that can process quickly and this one is perfect. I was told not to max out the memory and the most JPEGs I've put on my cards is 750 (and that's because I wasn't paying attention) and I had no problems. If I change cards, it'll be to upgrade to the Extreme IV.

Now, we will talk price Amazon could not deliver a better bargain, coupled wwith free delivery and the LOWEST net price that I found this is THE GIft for the photographer in your life. Marry this to t Digital SLR (Sony in my case) and the future looks bright and long. Haave not run a test as yet but believe it will outlast the battery power before reaching its capacity.. Thank you! Give this to get a truly pleased gift recipient. (PS your Maxim lenses ( while not having connections for all their features) can be used on the Sony /Maxim version but with limited results ; so I am looking to purchase from the new lenses dveloped for this Camera.(DSLR alpha 100)Joe Price Ocala FL
