Customer Review: I'm VERY satisfied... but the price?
Summary: 4 Stars

Well, this thing does exactly what I wanted it to do. Hook it up to the stereo, set in the player and you're off and listening and charging. I don't hear any quality degredation and every morning it's fully charged ready for a days use... the only thing that I'm not fond of is the price... just seems like by the time you buy all the accessories you have MUCH more than the actual Sansa ever cost. I guess it's the nature of the beast. I'm sure this unit cost no-where near the selling price to make, and I'm all for business being successful... but come-on... but this reveiw isn't about the price, but the "product"... well, I do enjoy the product... I know some gripe about the remote, etc., well, for me, it's not that big of a deal; I'm usually up and about anyway, so if I have to "walk" over to find the remote somewhere, why not "walk" over to the unit to get done what you want to get done. I like that it's black and matches the unit, I like the charging and I like the sound that's coming out of it. I have not use the sync cord with this unit so I can't really comment on that. An MP3 player is a luxury and so are the accessories, so if you want a little "gift" and "toy" for yourself, I recommend the Sansas MP3 and this Sansas "dock"; I think you'll like it. I know I do.

Customer Review: A Good Home Accessory for your Sansa E200
Summary: 4 Stars

I agree with the previous reviewer that the remote control could be a bit more intuitive but the sound improvement from the built in amp in the docking station compensated for all it's short comings in my opinion. I had it hooked up to a Yamaha Sound Projector and after a few adjustments, the sound quality rivals that of an optical/Toslink connected CD/DVD player. Additionally, the design is sleek and seamless to the E200. I also noticed a good improvement in the FM reception.
My out of the box impression was good.
Packaging had individual compartments for each of the components. Supplied accessories: Adaptors for c and e series players, 3 ft. USB cable, 3 ft. audio cable, AC cable/adapter, remote control and a basic user manual. Ensure that you have the latest firmware installed on your player before hooking it up. It would make your installation faster and easier. Overall, I would highly recommend it for those who are tired of manually hooking up your player for external listening or charging. The improved sound was a bonus for me as I wasn't expecting it.

Customer Review: works fine and is worth the money
Summary: 5 Stars

I got this for 2 reasons, to charge the sansa with out a PC, and to use a better hook up to my stereo. One thing that didn't seem clear in the reviews was if it comes with a wall plug or not, and yes it does. So you don't need a computer. It hooked up easily to my stereo, and I think gives better sound than just pluging into the earpiece jack.
The remote works, ok pretty limited thought. It's not going to do the same as a $200+ Ipod dock, but it does simple things. I would have like to spend a few more dollors and got to do more things with the remote, it wont let you choose albums. you can fast foreward, reverse, or volume.
I gave it 5 stars because of price/functionability (sp?) If it cost more and had the limited remote features I would have gave it less stars
It also comes with 2 bases for the different sansa models. It seems well made it came with the needed cables to hook to me stereo.

Customer Review: Oopsie...

As noted in other reviews, SanDisk dropped the ball programming the remote. The only workaround is to create long play lists using Windows Media Player and sync them to the device. Then at least you can play a list and skip/replay tracks from the remote with less fumbling around.

Works best with E200 family players, which can be operated in the dock. C200 models need to be removed from the base, or the whole base tipped sideways, to navigate the menus, which can be quite annoying if you aren't playing from a long list. (The C200 display is bad enough that if you are getting a player and the base station... just get the E200 instead. You'll be glad you did.)

Comes in handy to charge the units and besides your home sound system can be used with any powered speakers left over from computers etc.

Customer Review: SanDisk Sansa Base Station for Sansa c200 and e200 Series Players
Summary: 5 Stars

Ordered the Sansa Base Station recently and have no complaints except for one minor one; the Owners Manual which takes a rocket sceintist to understand and someone with hawk eyes to see; print as small as an ant so be prepared to wear your glasses or contacts when reading this manual, but everything worked perfectly once the updater they recommend you install on your Sansa player is installed, I noticed some reviewers mentioned they had problems with their players not functioning probably the reason why is because they never installed the updater for the base station to function properly I would not buy into some of these reviewers rewiews because of inaccuracies on their part but take into account how many good reviews there is on the product thats your best bet when buying products from amazon
