Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 4 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive SDCZ7-4096-A10Customer Review: Splurged and got this Summary: 5 Stars
I had a ton of floppy disks that were just sitting around taking up space so I got this and transferred the files. The space is amazing. It is really fast (meaning even with a 3 1/2" floppy the files jump onto the flash drive quickly).
I gave this drive a name and I was ready to go.
It comes with a clip for a pocket wearer and a loop so you can wear it around your neck.
When you put it in it turns a beautiful royal blue in the area where you slide the usb port out. That light is extremely attractive to toddlers who want to pull out the drive. (You have to use the software to "eject" it. It will let you know when you can pull it out.)
I have saved music, photos, documents and other types of files. I've already put about 250 MB on it and in the properties there is only the thinnest sliver of the pie used.
Thanks for reading.
Customer Review: Sandisk Rules The World Of Flash Drives Summary: 5 Stars
This was a present from a friend and I love it based on its functionality and available space. There is synchronization software which I have yet to play with to see how it works but when used as a conventional flash drive you can fit a little bit of everything. As a writer and photographer I tend to carry a lot of word documents and photos around with me since I am always doing something with them. This allows me to finish the work I am involved in without running low on space. Given I also work as a technician, I was able to keep full downloads of some application freeware I often need access to.
Its a sleek design and glows royal blue when its active. Like most Flash USB's you need to do the proper ejecting method so u dont lose your files and it comes with a lanyard cord and pocket clip. A worthy purchase for the technophile or someone who just needs space.
Customer Review: Well Made Thumb Drive Summary: 4 Stars
This Thumb Drive is a little gem, but the U3 software that comes with it should be made optional to non-technical users. For me, I cannot use the TD with its software because of security issues imposed by what I do. Trying to delete the software from the drive, non-techies will find that it replicates upon reconnecting the TD. To clean the drive, you can use the U3 removal software that is available online by doing a search for U3 removal software... or better yet just format the sucker! If you work in a highly secure environment. After you do this... the TD is SUPER! However you may want to save your U3 software on your personal computer before your zap it! The best thing I like about this TD, is there is no cap to lose, and it comes with a secure carrying system. Both Pocket Clip and Necklace system. I only wish this design would be available in an 8-16 GB version.
Customer Review: Negative stars was not an option Summary: 1 Stars
1. I am a Mac user, I can't uninstall the U3 software without a PC
2. My PC at work, an XP sp2 machine can not even recognize the data storage partition. It only sees the U3 disk mounting.
3. My HP multifunction printer (L7780) cannot recognize the data storage partition because of the U3 disk mounting.
4. I can't even evaluate if this is a good USB device because the U3 software renders it useless every single instance I want to use it.
5. There are plenty of third party applications out there that do exactly the same thing that the "smartdisk" software purports to do WITHOUT destroying all functionality of the device.
6. SanDisk is a decent company. I understand why they want to include "value added" to their device, but this software significantly DECREASES the value of the device. People want things that work. This clearly doesn't.
Customer Review: Appears to be a decent piece of equipment Summary: 4 Stars
I've only had this item now for about a week. I encountered some problems with the third party distributor sending me the incorrect item initially, but all has been corrected since then. This Cruzer has plenty of available space and transfers data quick enough to keep a person from getting too impatient. I know that several reviews state a dislike for the U3 technology, but to be honest, that was one reason I went with this product. U3 provides a "cloned" environment of any PC you may use as your "base" system that can be used on any other system throughout the world. For me, that is a selling point since I travel a lot for business and now do not have to lug my laptop all over the place. I simply synchronize my Cruzer with my system, and everything I need is right on my mobile storage unit. It's like having your PC or notebook in your pocket.
