Customer Review: How to Disable U3 Virtual ROM Drive
Summary: 4 Stars

0. These instructions are for Windows XP.
1. In Windows Explorer allow hidden files to be seen.
2. Delete everything in 'new' Cruzer.
-- If you click on the 'U3...(E:) drive, it will now hang.
3. Right click on 'Removable Disk (F:) and choose 'Properties'.
4. Click on the 'Hardware' Tab.
5. There will be 2 listings for 'SanDisk U3 Cruzer Micro USB Device'.
-- Type = 'Disk Drives'
-- Type = 'DVD/CD-ROM Drives'
6. Highlight the second 'DVD/CD-ROM Drives'.
7. Click the 'Properties' button. A new pop-up will appear.
8. At the bottom there is a pull-down menu titled 'Device usage'.
9. Choose 'Do not use this device (disable)'.
10. Click the 'OK' button.
11. Now the 'U3...(E:)' drive will disappear from Windows Explorer.

Customer Review: AWESOME!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is my first U3 jump drive, and I am in LOVE with it!
Being a student who travels back and forth to college (PK-3 Education major) and works on multiple computers, it is incredibly convenient to have a way to browse the internet with my favorite browser (Firefox) and with all my personal add-on's, bookmarks, and passwords AND have my favorite word processing suite (Open Office) to work with.
There is no other way that I know of to do this than with the U3 software.
Plus, you CANNOT beat this price for an 8GB jump drive. I shopped around, and this was IT.
It was a breeze to install, use, and the file transfer speed is great!
I am incredible happy with this product and if I ever need to buy again, it will be from here.
If you are reading this, buy it now!!

Customer Review: Love It!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Lost my 4Gb cruzer so when i replaced it i was glad to see that the 8Gb was the same price i originally paid for my 4Gb one a couple of years ago!!!

i'm not big fan of the U3 software it comes with. to me it just adds more steps to get to my stored data. i just use normal windows explorer. i didn't know how the switchover to window 7 might effect accessing my data, but if anything it's just faster. I Love this product. I also like the keychain, cuz i'm forever losing these things (this is my 6th flash drive - started with a 256kb one lol).

i would heed the other reviews that encourage you to take your keys off before connecting it into your usb ports.

however i've had this one now for over 6mts (a new record!! lol)and had ZERO problems with it.

Customer Review: Cruzer is a breeze to use
Summary: 5 Stars

This SanDisk Cruzer 8GB works great. I noticed there were some reviews about it being difficult to open and close. I did not find it at all difficult and the little door that closes over the end really protects the usb connector when it's not in use.
It is a very convenient size and the neat little slip-in cover with fastener makes it simple to clip onto those mysterious loops that appear inside messenger bags, backpacks, etc.
SanDisk made the usb connector open out far enough that it doesn't take up much space side-to-side in the usb port lineup on my notebook. I've had a few cheap sticks that are too wide to fit.
I got this to use with a video transfer device because I needed the speed and the storage space and this comes thru with flying colors.

Customer Review: Not a User Friendly USB Memory Stick
Summary: 1 Stars

Very Disappointed. I have tried to use these SanDisk Brand Memory Sticks on multiple occasions. I have purchased multiple size drives as well. 2GB, 8GB, etc. I have found them to be difficult to use. The software that is preloaded on them is terrible to navigate. You can not simply plug the SanDisk Memory Stick into your computer and use it for fast file transfer. You will find that you can not readily copy files onto the stick. When you plug them in you will see them identified a "U3 Systems". You must first setup the Memory Stick as to what you intend to put on the stick. I will not buy any more of these Sticks and will unload them as fast as I can. I have had no similar issues with Lexar, Toshiba or Kingston Brands. Now, I know why these USB sticks were on sale.
