Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk Cruzer Micro 512 MB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (SDCZ4-512-A10, Retail Package)Customer Review: Sturdy and long lasting Summary: 5 Stars
I have had one of these SanDisk 512MB drives for well over three years. It stays on my keychain and takes a beating. The cover was lost during the first month I had it. My keys have been dropped in a stream while camping, in an ice cooler full of beer, sat out in the sun at the beach, been thrown and dropped a thousand times, and this thing has never failed. I have never lost a file on it or had any corrupt data. I have read reviews that later SanDisk items are less sturdy. I have wanted to buy a 2 or 4 gig drive but they look flimsy compared to my iron clad 512. Mine has part of the metal casing through the key chain loop too. Others look like its just plastic and apparently break. This one won't. It is only 512 MB, but if you want indestructibility, this is the one you want.
Customer Review: Great Device Summary: 4 Stars
Fast and compact, the Cruzer Micro does what it's supposed to do. The blue LED glows brightly when it's operating and looks really sharp.
I'd like to give it 5 stars, but the keychain clip is really small and it seems like it should be better thought out. Plus, it comes with a neck strap. Is anyone really going to wear this around their neck?
There is some debate as to whether it's better to have the keychain clip on the USB device or the device's plastic cover. If it's on the device, as with this unit, and you attach it to your keychain, you likely won't leave it behind on a computer but you will likely lose the cap. If the keychain clip is on the cap, you won't lose the cap but you might leave the device behind somewhere.
Customer Review: Excellent USB flash keychain drive Summary: 5 Stars
This little USB flash drive fits right onto your keychain and doesn't add any noticeable bulk. The drive itself is very slick; both in looks and operation. The end opposite the USB connector lights up via a blue LED when connected and blinks to let you know it is transferring files to/from the drive.
It is a very handy device that will save me from wasting CDs on a few documents that I need to transfer and I won't have to deal with floppy disks or emailing documents anymore. Just pop it in, transfer the file, disconnect it, and you're on your way.
The best part is no additional software is required. Simply plug it in, Windows/Mac recognizes it as an external USB mass storage device, and you're ready to transfer.
Customer Review: Awesome Product Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best USB Flash Drive (UDF) that i have found. I got a much smaller UDF (128 mb.) not that long ago and i didn't like it. So i bought the SanDisk Cruzer Micro 512 MB, and have yet to be disapointed. To go along with what some other people have said about the loose caps, both of the caps (the one that just covers the USB plug and the one that goes the lenght of the UDF) that i got with mine are both tight, i acutally think that the one that goes the whole length of the UDF is a little too tight, but the other cap is perfect, and i keep mine in my pocket when i'm not using it in a PC and the cap has never come off. So anybody who is looking for an inexpensive UDF i would definintly suggest that you should pick this product.
Customer Review: Data 2 Go Summary: 5 Stars
What an amazingly flexible little device. I removed the strap, so the 1/2 GB data atorage attaches to my keyring using the little metal loop. The drive is narrow enough that it easily plugs into the multi-port on my desk.
I use it mostly to download large files where bandwidth is available, then install them on other machines where only dial-up is available. Also, when I'm working on a large document or Microsoft PowerPoint demo at work, I can bring it all home in my pocket rather than lugging a laptop.
Should you own this? It's a pretty simple question if you'd like having the storage of 500 floppy disks on your keychain. It's available anytime, anywhere you need to save or retrieve all that data.
