Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk Cruzer Micro 4 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive SDCZ6-4096-A11Customer Review: Very pleased with my purchase. Summary: 5 Stars
I am very pleased with my purchase through Amazon.com. Fast delivery, good price! The ScanDisk 4GB Cruzer is a great product and very affordable. I am a Property Appraiser and have to keep my files and reports for 5 years or more. Now that we are allowed to keep our files in PDF format and no longer have to keep the large original files my life has gotten a lot simpler. I have a 4GB ScanDisk Cruzer for each year. No more large, dusty, bulky file cabinets. As soon as I've signed the reports I scan the rest of the file and put it on the UBS Flashdrive Cruzer. Great backup in case my computer desides to quit on me. It holds so much data and it allows me to save my research instead of printing it all out. Save on paper, save on ink and help save the planet too. All in all I'm highly pleased with the product.
Customer Review: Installs stuff you don't want or need Summary: 1 Stars
I'm a software developer who uses (well, used) this drive to transfer files between my mac and pc. Starting today, I'm no longer going to use this drive or any that Sandisk makes. Their auto-run software is annoying, and there is no way to remove it permanently as far as I can tell. The thing launches 2 drives when you plug it into windows XP... one for your stuff which is pre-cluttered with sandisk junk, and one for their auto-run software. Even when you try to delete their files, it comes back next time you insert the drive. You can disable the auto-run software temporarily, but this morning I ran a windows XP update, and behold, their autorun stuff is back, bothering me with popups and wasting my system resources. Get a clue, Sandisk. People want a drive for their data, not yours.
Customer Review: Very Useful Summary: 5 Stars
I found this little gem to be very useful on my keychain. Its 4GB in my pocket at all times for documents and such. It is also useful for transfering files between computers when the network is just too slow. These drives are the modern day floppies.
I like this drive because of the retractable usb connector and is slim profile. I don't even notice it on my keychain because it is practically weightless.
I did not install any software, so I am not sure why so many buyers have issuses with it. It works without the software because Windows recognizes the device.
The only thing I would ask for is a thicker keyring. The one included is rather small, but does not seem to be an issue. A thicker one would be nice to have though.
Customer Review: Now, don't be so picky! Summary: 5 Stars
All right, ya'll... Quit being so picky! If you don't like the U3 software, just get another drive! Or uninstall it! What is the big deal?? Or ya'll work at CIA and got all this super-duper sensitive information? Why are you using a $30 drive then? You should be spending hundred times more of the taxpayers money!
I have used this one for about a month, does all it's suppose to. A lot of room, works fast, works with Mac (ye,ye,ye, it puts another drive on your screen! Big deal!)
I even like some of the U3 programs, the anti virus is actually handy - you can check your system independently from your computer!
Over all it is a great device. I have used many SanDisk products, they never failed me.
Customer Review: A lot in a little package Summary: 5 Stars
I've had this flash drive for a few years now, and I have to say it is one of the best. I like the retractable USB because I don't have to worry about losing the cap. (Although I recently learned that the colored loop at the end of the Kingston is to hold the cap.) The U3 launchpad is really cool. You can add or remove programs as you wish and you can enable a security feature that requires a password to unlock the USB prior to use so if you lose it, no one can delete your files and steal you flash drive! I think it's easy to use (most USB drives are) but if you can't figure out how to change anything, I suggest reading the directions. It will take about 2 minutes, which is a reasonable amount of time to spend on reading.
